There are 2 plugs per cylinder, so you will need 16 all together. The spark plugs are located under the coil packs, remove the coils and the plugs are at the bottom of the spark plug tubes. On the earlier modes of the 5.7 one plug is under the coil and the other is connected by a spark plug wire, but yours should be the newer version where they are under the coils only

That motor has 16 plugs. You remove the coils and they are under there. It has 2 plugs per cylinder. Positive crankcase ventilation valve is what is referred to by pcv valve. It is usualy near or in the valve cover with a vacume hose to the intake. Some dodges screw it in to the intake and run a hose to the valve cover. If you can't find it let me know and I will look in the book. I hope this helps you. Thanks....Dan

SOURCE: how do i put in spark plugs in my 2005 dodge ram

I'm assuming this is a 5.7 hemi. Remove the 8 coil packs that are bolted to the top of the valve cover. You can do 1 at a time. Each coil pack has two spark plugs under it . use a 5/8 spark plug socket and extention. If its a 4.7 the coil packs are held on by one 10mm nut. These packs are just inside the valve cover on both sides of the engine. There will be only one 5/8 plug for each pack

Spark plug socket dont fit dodge ram

I think your vehicle takes a 15mm or 16mm socket. Normal spark plug wrench will not work. Visit your local Parts Store for more information. Have them show you a replacement plug for your truck and see what socket fits it.
Good Luck.

Follw the spark plug wires to spark plug. Disconnect the wire from plug by pulling and twisting end of wire. Change only one plug at a time and replace wire so as not to mix up firing order

Which is a good spark plug for my dodge

To prevent possible spark plug issues the best suggestion is to replace with whatever comes out. I try to even keep brand specific to whatever comes out. Chrysler tends to use champion branded spark plugs alot.

Changed spark plugs and wires on 98 dodge ram. Now it backfires and has no power

Make sure that the firing order was not changed when you took the spark plug wires off of the plugs. You might also want to double check the gap on the plug. Let me know if neither of these were it.
