My 2002 chevy silverado is ticking under the hood, it is continues speed up it speeds up. I don't know much about engines but I lookedand it is on the right side facing the engine, there is a wire going down to it and as the engine idles it moves in and out, sounds like the ticking is consistant with the movement, what does this mean?

Are you certain that it is the transmission and not the engine misfiring? I would recommend scanning your onboard computer network to BEGIN proper diagnosis.
what kind of knock ,is it like engine knock,ticking noise,or universal joints.you can ck your universal joints by simply by getting under vehicle and with both hands push up and pull down,push side to side,if there is play in the joint then you may have a bad universal joint

there is a sticker located under the hood either on the hood itself or on the radiator support with a belt routing diagram the engine size is usually listed there or also on the vehicle build tag onthe opening part of he driver front door
there could be partial contact in the blower controls which has resulted in total loss of contact, in blower speed affected. replacement of the entire blower control switch should resolve it
you need a resister found under your air duct by the passenger floor under dash board auto zone sells these for about 25.00 you may as well buy cabin air filters while your at it . 1 of the screws will be a pain to install back into the duct work I left mine out didn,t make a difference . you might have to order it as they are a comman item oh you will need a vacuum to clean up mess from cabin air filters .this is not a hard job .
