88 plymoth reliant is overheating and no heat is coming out of vents

Check when you activate the hot cold switch that the heater tap is actually moveing. Your heater may be stuck on

try fuel as your gauge may have got stuck then try your fuel pump pull pipe off and crank engine see if any feul coming through

ask a local mechanic to come and have a listen for a proper diagnostic ,its too difficult to know without hearing the sound ,unless you can record it on your phone then transfer it to computer and upload it as a video link

because it is 22years old and has a lot of wear it may need plugs cap and button fuel sytem cleaned plug wires starter could be draging or low cylinder compresion and more

Turn wipers on (veh in "on" or "acc" position)
Disconnect the electrical connection at the windshield wiper motor (located in the engine compartment on the fire wall) and check for voltage. If you have voltage, there is a good possibility your windshield wiper motor is bad.
You may also: Disconnect the electrical connection at the windshield motor and run a heavy gauge wire directly from the positive side of the battery to the motor. If you get the windshield motor to come on. There may be only a wiring (short) problem between the relay and the motor.

There is usually 2 bolts holding that ignition switch on the column, and the bracket for the switch has slotted hole to slide up and down for adjustment. When turning your ignition to start, from just on position, you should feel or see, that rod move downward slightly into that switch lower down on column, and then engine should turn over to start. When you release the key, after started, the rod should retract slightly, as the switch at other end, is spring loaded. If rod not moving downward on start, and pushing into switch below by itself, then there is a problem in the key switch mechanism. If rod goes down when key is turned, but doesn't come back up when released, there is a problem with the switch down lower on the column. You can loosen those 2 bolts and try sliding it upward toward rod, to see if maybe just out of adjustment. I hope that helps, if I misunderstood what you were describing, please let me know.

You can loosen the alternator that should releive the tension on the belt.
When you tighten it again make sure you can only turn the belt 90 degrees then you know you have the right tension.
