There is a manual release behind the rear seat on the passenger side. Pulling it releases the tonneau motor plate away from the gears, allowing top to be raised and lowered manually.Once this release is used, the back bottom edge of the top will never seat against the tonneau again until the top is repaired.

Mine died too. In the owner's manual it tells you how. You have to use the tire iron to do it. It sucked so I paid the $2200 to get it fixed. Good luck!!
i dont under stand how to take it down to
It's a very lengthy process of trial and error until you get the steps to it down in order
You have to first fold down the backseat then turn the hydraulic pump to the left all the way counter clockwise when you do that the pressure releases
Then undo the latch that will release it
Now you have to put your key in the on position with trunk shuteven if your top has quit working you will still hear a sound when you press down on the roof button when that sound goes backward it unlocks the back part of the convertible top
Then you have stick something like a tire tool screwdriver etc in a lever which is located in the trunk on the upper right rear panel it's easier to just undo do the fabric and put it back I was in a hurry and cut out a whole piece you want it to point towards the trunk that unlatches the back part
Then you lift up on the black part of the back which should be freely moveable now once lifted enough
Then you just lift the wings up and the top backwards in its compartment and shut the wings back down
Then open trunk with key and lock the back bar back in place to secure it
And the little wings will go down when you get in if you just use the roof button again hopefully this helped y'all kinda hard to explain
