Have you checked the belts attached to the alternator? A worn belt can squeak anytime, especially when wet and occasionally the bearings inside the pulleys squeak if not lubricated.

Did you have the ECM programmed ? When you turn the key to the on position does the check engine light come on for few seconds an then go out ? Does it start an run ?
There are several heat shields that can squeak or you could just need a new serpentine belt. Unfortunately, a lot of things can cause a 'squeak' but without knowing what area it comes from, if it changes with engine speed, or vehicle speed, I can't give you any pinpoint information.
With the engine running and hood open, is there a air sucking sound? The air intake hose which runs across the top of the engine may have a hole in it. On mine it happens in the little rubber tube which connects to the large tube. I believe it is called the PCV connector, which is on the top of the engine, towards the windsheild. The rubber part in my area runs about $5. Hope it's that simple for you.
sounds like a squealing belt or bad pulley on the engine.
If the brakes are indeed fine, then the solution is to work on the engine.
doubt if it's a wheel bearing, too.
Sounds like you make have a vacumn leak on one of the rubber vacumn lines that attach to the intake manifold. Check all of these lines and look for cracks, pinholes and lines that have colapsed.
This sounds like a MAP sensor. Have it scanned for the codes to make sure. Your mechanic can do this orany Ford Dealer for 75 - 100.00. I'm 98% sure this is a MAP sensor problem. Any questions please feel free to ask. Chris J.C. Towing
There is a tsb for that concern but with the noise originating from the passenger seat. One question leather seats? If so or if not try moving the passeger seat in diffrent positions and test drive. good luck
1998 ford escort sport engine started making a tapping noise and engine light started flashing. Had oil and water at normal level.
Car has 110,000 miles. Been serviced regularly!
