Where is thermostat for lexas 2000 rx300 located

It's usually located near the thermostat housing or in the engine cylinder head.

Well, code 171 is for the O2 sensor telling the computer the fuel mixture for bank one is too lean. It could be a vac leak, but it is only on bank one which would make the leak very isolated to that area of the engine. The problem could also be one or more of the injectors.

Change the thermostat ,End get the system flush,

Standing in front of your car there should be a large hose on the top of your radiator on your right hand side(passenger). follow that hose towards the engine. The housing that it runs into holds the thermostat It should be held on with 2 bolts. Hope that hels you out.

I had similar problem in 2001 rx300. Every morning the clock
will reset to 1:00. Sometime this will happen when I started the engine. The Lexus dealership replaced the car battery. According to the mechanic, The Rx300 are very current sensitive system and even though The existing battery was 3 years old the cold weather made the current go below the allowed limit. That makes the clock reset to 1:00. After replacing the Car battery, the problem when away

follow the big rubber hose from the radiator to the engine. the top readiator hos. If at the engine there is two bolts holding down the hose connection housing, You found iit. If not there, look on the block end of the lower host.

Go with the Benz as the lexas can not be repaired except by lexas for big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
