Check the fuse,, its possibly blown or there is an eletrical short in one of the rear lights..
You need to check the bulbs first. When one bulb on one side of a vehicle goes bad, it makes the other bulb on a side (front) blink fast.
You should also check the fuses for any problems. You may have a wiring problem that is causing the bulbs to burn out.
But, once again, first step is to check bulbs. If you are handy with a voltmeter, you could do additional voltage checks.
The year of your vehicle would be helpful. Yes it could be the switch...you have not indicated whether you have checke the other items indicated earlier.

If it is the switch, you are looking at over 140$ for aftermarket parts (cheapest route) for a 95-03. Could be higher depending on options and year.
That is why we need to rule out the easy items first.
One other possiblity is the relay for the rear lamps. This could be bad, and would cause your problem.
