My Honda Civic 2005 1.5 LXi automatic has bad gas mileage - about 200 KM per full tank. Three months back I was getting 500 KM per full tank. I did a full service at an authorized Honda dealer three months back. What could be the cause of it?
Mileage drop started after the servicing at the dealer. I took the car back to dealer but they told technically the car is perfect. Mileage drop may be due to peak summer -50 degree centigrade in Dubai.
I drive my car in the city only. I try to drive it as economically as possible and use 95 octane gas.
Thanks Roshan
Check the following things: air filter, wheel alignment, and timing belt, all of them if not serviced on time can affect your fuel consumption. I do not think its the heat because I drive my car in Phoenix AZ with temperatures comparable to Dubai and I still get 500+ km/tank.
Good Luck,

I recently switched from using regular unleaded to premium. For the first few tanks full the gas mileage was dramatically better-about 90 miles more on a tank of gas-highway miles. Then it seemed that I was getting much less-less even than when I was using regular unleaded. I haven't checked the wheel alignment or filters or timing yet, but that's my next step.
Before I change the airfilter I can only drive 370km per tank, now I can drive around 430km per tank. Most driving in city condition. It seems still on high side. What is the problem? Please advice.
I'm getting 335 km per tank. My gas range shows 600 km to the tank but I'm getting about half of what is showing. Is this typical?
