It is not legal to remove or bypass the catalytic converters.the converters do not restrict the exhaust flow to any degree because of how they are now designed and the material used in them to control emissions, if the converter is causing the light to come on then they need replacing but this should be checked out.

I have a 2006 Dodge Dakota and the cat monitor won't set.

Make sure it has the correct thermostat temperature, 3/4 tank of fuel. After it reaches operating temp, drive at 55mp for at least 5 min. 99% of the time this will do it. Good luck

How many o2 sensors are there on a 2004 dodge ram 1500 slt hemi 5.7 4x4. im getting conflicting results. not true-dual exhaust if that matters

It depends on the catalytic converters if you have 2 converters you will have 4 O2 sensors one between the engine and the converter and another behind the catalytic converter so there's 2 sensors per bank the sensors won't be in the same place on the other side but they have to be there. I hope this helps. Take Care.

How do you delete catalytic converters on 2006 dodge ram 5.7 hemi without getting the check engine light

Than you will need to purchase a O2 Simulator that replaces the downstream o2 sensor and fools the computer into thinking the cat is there and working. There are several companies that make these. You can google search ( "O2 simulator" ) for these items and decide which one would work best for you.

2006 dodge ram hemi 5.7 liter trouble codes 1404 and 405 and check engine light on

The check engine light is on to tell you that the ECU has detected a fault. The faults are stored as codes. The codes both have to do with a deficiency of exhaust gas going through the EGR valve. You will need to find out if the problem has to do with the valve, a leak, or the circuit.

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram Hemi. An amber light in the upper left dash and a flashing red light in the lower right is displays periodically. When this happens the engine runs very rough and wants to cut out...

use the warranty, if you get someone to poke around it could void the warranty.
Red fluid is normally transmission fluid, sometimes power steering. Is the fluid oily or watery, some brands of antifreeze are red.
A flashing check engine light means that you are doing harm to the catalytic converters.
I would have this checked immediatley, a customer of mine waited too long and although the dealer warrantied the error, they would not cover the cost of replacing the converters because it was not their fault he kept driving it, it was a $ 2500 lesson

P2097 Error code in 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan, which O2 Sensor?

actually there are 4 sensors. one on each exhaust manifold and then as you said one prior and aft the catalytic convertor. this is saying it is reading too rich a reading. check the condition of your spark plugs. you need to pin point the reason. chances are it is not the o2 sensor. happy holidays

Will my 98 dodge ram run with out the catilyic coverter? it is not running right, and i was told it would. need help

Your Dodge Ram should run without the catalytic converter, but you're most likely also going to be running with the check engine light on all the time, due to the downstream O2 sensor.

With any vehicles built past 1996, with OBD II, I would not recommend the removal of your catalytic converter.

I hope this helps! :)
