It is an outside temperature warning light. Turns yellow when the temperature gets to around 5 degrees and then turns red with the temperature gets to around 0.

Why does a snow flake red light stay on

If it's on a Ford vehicle that is a frost or ice warning light. There are sensors on your vehicle that measure outside air temp. If it's between 39 and 32 degrees outside this light will stay on.

My yellow light on the dash is like a snow flake.i have a fiat scudo van 04

I don't know ... but I will say that when I have encountered a snow flake on a auto display, it has meant (in the cars I have driven) the air conditioner is turned on.

It may mean something else in your fiat.

Alight i have a 1999 mercury cougar and a light popped on the other day and i have no clue what it means. the light is on the headliner bundle of lights. please help. [email protected]

If the light on your cougar has a wrench on it then this is your "Interval Maintenance light", it comes on when your car is due for a scheduled maintenance as prescribed in your owners manual (oil changes, transmission fluid, etc). Another light located on the upper cluster is the "Outside Temp Freeze Warning Light", this light looks like a yellow or red snow flake, if this light is yellow it means it's nearly freezing outside (so watch for slippery roads), and if this light turns red it means that it's 32 degrees or lower

On the interior roof warning lights there are two lights that keep coming on(orange and red) that look like snow flakes. What sre these warning lights for?

These are outside temp. warning lights. The Yellow light goes on when the outside temp. dips to 40 degrees to let you know that there is a possibility of frost. The Red light goes on when outside temp. dips to 30 degrees suggesting a possibility of icy conditions.

Warning light focus st170

Pretty much. The temperature is low enough that if your engine is not properly prepared for the cold you could experience engine issues. i.e. Frozen radiator, tube failures and other issues like low viscosity oil which would create lubrication issues and premature pump failure. Best to ensure that your car is wheater ready for the cold. DRRXR :)

Why is the ''snowflake light'' showing up red in my car?

I have a '99 Mercury Cougar & I've been read somewhere that the snowflakes have to do with the outside temp. & traction. I think it's warning you that it may be slippery or icy. I've noticed that when it's +3 to about -2 or -3, the yellow snowflake shows up. Any anything colder than -3 shows the red snowflake. The other lights: the wrench comes up in yellow. That one has always turned on after a certain amount of km's & it's advising you that your car needs a check-up (that's when I know I should look into getting an oil change). You can turn this light off by holding down the two buttons above & below the 'clock' button. Hold them down together for at least 5 seconds & that wrench light should go off. Otherwise, there is a light for checking your breaks (upside down exclamation mark), low windshield fluid. I can't think of any other ones but I hope this helps.
