You did not state which engine you have in your Freestar, but here is the arrangement for the four cylinder, Come back to me if this is not correct and you have a different engine and layout.

  1. Hello your plug wires connect to the coil pack located on the back side of the engine to access this you better be a fairly good mechanic the whole plastic housing comes off in front of the windshield start by removing the wiper blades first then you can remove the plastic housing and you will see your coil pack buried on the valve cover twords the passanger side hope this helps u if you don't understand this watch a video on youtube type in the search ford freestar coil replacement regards Chris

2004 f0rd freestar 3.9 engine it still runs slugish... i have changed 1. spark plugs 2. ignition wires 3. ignition coil 4. sprayed wire dry on harnesses and ignition wires and coil the van still...

O2 sensors get changed at 100,000 miles
Has that been done?

Has the TPS Sensor been tested with a scan tool
or oscilloscope?

Have you cleaned the MAF Sensor

All these items should be part of your preventative
maintenance,just as spark plugs

There is no need what so ever to change wires or coil,
unless they are tested & fail a test

2004 Ford Freestar missing Possible fuel pump?

if you have a bad spark plug wire, it will draw condensation and make engine run rough.... you can check this by getting a spray bottle and filling it with water, spray a mist over top of the wires while the car is running, and if one is bad it will show.... (looks like little lightning coming off of wire) .... hope this helps

Where do i found the sparg plugs on a ford freestar 2004

I'm going to assume that we are starting from scratch with little experience under the hood.

1: Find the valve cover at the front of the engine
2: Follow downward towards exhaust manifolds
3: You should see spark plug wires attached to the plugs beside each outlet of the exhaust manifold.

*The other 3 plugs will be on the back of the engine in the same location. Those plugs are essentially only accessible from under the vehicle*
