There is a bracket that attaches the exhaust pipe to the engine block. Remove the 2 screws that hold
that bracket on. I think they are 12mm heads. Detach the 2 exhaust manifold to exhaust pipe screws,
the screws have 15mm heads. A 15mm deep socket is best. After you remove those 2 15mm screws you can pull the exhaust pipe down, remove the old exhaust flange and put the new one on.

Rettach the exhaust manifold to pipe screws, and reattach the bracket and youre done.

Important! You also need to unplug the oxygen sensor near the top of the radiator fan so you dont damage the wire when you lower the exhaust pipe.

Oxygen sensor loc for a 1997 Toyota tercel

May have two sensors.
Usually found in the exhaust manifold between engine and catalytic converter under the car's cabin area.
They're expensive little buggers, about $200@ so make sure it's the problem and the right one.
Trouble code may indicate A or B or front or back one if more then one.

Where is the knock sensor located on 1997 Toyota Tercel

Hello,

The knock sensor is usually located in the side of your engine block just under the exhaust manifold. If your standing in front of the car (Since Its Front Wheel Drive) It should be almost in the center directly in front of you.

O2 sensor on a 1994 toyota tercel

Usually the O2 sensor will be on the exhaust manifold close to the engine, I'm going to assume you have a pretty good idea of what you are doing so if you need more details don't hesitate to ask.

1993 TOYOTA TERCEL 1500cc Valve Seals Replaced now smokes much worse

You either have had the wrong valve seals installed, they are physically missing, or the valves are incorrect (too loose in the guides/stem too thin). The rocker arm seals will not contribute to your issue. If it did not have the oil smoke before you took the head off, the issue is with whatever the machine shop did. Valve seals have to fit TIGHT, or oil will go down the valve stem into the intake.
Take the head back to the machine shop & tell them to fix it. For free.
