Power Door Lock Problem

Power door locks work fine from remote control (keyless FOB). They do not work from power buttons on either drivers or passengers door. This includes lock and unlock. Rear cargo switch does nothing either. Lock motors/actuators obviously work. No blown fuses. Not sure how/if can troubleshoot door switches. All other accessories work - mirrors, windows, seats, lighter sockets (all of em), wipers, washers, radio, etc.

I have a 99 Suburban and I just replaced the door handles on both front doors and I tried to clean the locks. The interior locks still do not work but the keyless entry still locks and unlocks. I have not tried the rear lock but I assume it will not work either. Any suggestions

    99' same problem!

The last post by maddog1321 was exactly what I had with my right rear door. The electric locks would not lock and unlock, and you almost couldn't do it manually without my feeling I was about to break something. I took the door panel off, oiled everything and got no relief. Finally, I saw the above post and drilled out the aft-most pop-rivet. THE WINDOW WORKED PERFECTLY! I didn't drill out the forward (closest to the handle) pop-rivet and put a new pop-rivet in place of the one I drilled out. I then reinstalled everything and the locks work like new.

I have the exact same problem as Rabbit86. The power door locks work fine from the remote control (keyless FOB) but will not work from the rocker switches on the driver's, passenger's, or cargo door. This includes lock and unlock. No blown fuses. All other accessories work fine. I've gone through the factory service manuals but can't find a location in the wiring schematics that would explain why the FOBs work but not the door lock switches. Any help would be appreciated.

I have has my door panel off and realized that if the window switch becomes loose or falls off this will prevent the door switches from working. As far as the back window and lock. Same problem same problem on mine. The rivet that holds the actuator for the lock corrodes and the actuator binds in the window mechanism. Not easy to fix but fixable.

Key fob not working on front passenger side but works all other doors. I changed the actuator. 2012 ford fusion. Any Ideas will help

Does your fusion have Power Door Locks - Without Memory or Power Door Locks - With Memory ? Do you know about ford SJB - smart junction box ?

Power Door Locks - Without Memory
Regardless of the key position, the smart junction box (SJB) is supplied voltage at all times. When the SJB receives a signal from the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter, the keyless entry keypad, or the door lock control switches, the SJB supplies a ground signal to the appropriate lock or unlock relay. The ground signal closes the relay which supplies voltage to the door lock actuators. The door lock actuators then actuate to a lock or unlock position.
Power Door Locks - With Memory
Regardless of the key position, the SJB and the driver door module (DDM) are supplied voltage at all times. When the SJB receives a signal from the RKE transmitter, the keyless entry keypad, or either door lock control switch, the SJB sends a command to the DDM, through the controller area network (CAN), and a ground signal to the lock and unlock relays. When the LH door lock control switch is pressed, the DDM receives the lock or unlock signal. The DDM will send a request through the CAN network to the SJB to lock or unlock the passenger doors. The SJB then responds to the DDM request, authorizing a lock or unlock of the driver door by the DDM. The DDM then supplies voltage and ground to the driver door lock actuator based on the lock or unlock request. The ground signal in the SJB closes the relay which supplies voltage to the remaining door lock actuators. The remaining door lock actuators then actuate to a lock or unlock position determined by the relay.

  • A single or all passenger door locks are inoperative - with memory
  • Circuitry
  • Door lock actuator (part of the door latch)
  • DDM
  • SJB
  • Go To Pinpoint Test A .

Which fuse powers the power door locks on a 2012 equinox? None of the doors lock or unlock with the fob, battery ok

The Lock's lock from the door switches ? If they do it's not a fuse problem . Which of these does your vehicle have ?
Keyless Entry System Description and Operation (with Accessory 2 Way Remote)
Keyless Entry System Description and Operation (without Accessory 2 Way remote)

The keyless entry system is a vehicle entry device. The keyless entry system is used in conjunction with the body control module (BCM) to remotely activate certain vehicle features. Keyless entry will lock/unlock the doors/liftgate when a corresponding button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed. This is accomplished by the transmitter sending a radio frequency to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR). The RCDLR interprets the signal and activates the requested function via a serial data message to the BCM. A low transmitter or vehicle battery or radio frequency (RF) interference from aftermarket devices, such as 2-way radios, power inverters, computers, etc., may cause a system malfunction. High RF traffic areas may also cause interference that could lead to a malfunction. Keyless entry allows you to operate the following components:
• Door locks
• Liftgate lock
• Vehicle locator/Panic alarm
• Illuminated entry lamps
• Remote vehicle start
The keyless entry system has the following components:
• Keyless entry transmitters
• Keyless entry antenna
• 2 Way Advanced Remote Start RCDLR
• BCM

Your best bet , take it to a GM dealer .

Did you program the new key fob ?

Remote Transmitter Programming NOTE: All remote transmitters are programmable and must be set at the same time.
  1. Turn the key from OFF to RUN four times within three seconds, ending in RUN. The locks will then lock and unlock, confirming program mode has been entered.
  1. Press any button on each remote transmitter to be programmed. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm that each remote transmitter has been programmed.
  1. If additonal remote transmitters are to be programmed, repeat Step 3 within 7.5 seconds or steps 2 and 3 if more than 7.5 seconds have elapsed.
  1. To exit program mode, turn the ignition to START or wait 7.5 seconds.
  1. NOTE: Failure to wait at least 20 seconds will cause programming failures. Wait at least 20 seconds after turning the key to OFF or after the last remote transmitter has been programmed to activate a remote transmitter for testing or verification

Mervia. Why is central locking not locking any door?

It's only an educated guess. If all other locks switches are working it' either the switch panel itself or an electrical short. Switches are popular, get it checked first

Rocker switches, nor remote will lock or unlock doors fuse good

So , the power door locks won't lock or unlock with switches inside the vehicle or with the keyless entry remote fob.??? Is this correct ????
Do you know what a BCM - body control module is ? Do you know what diagnostic trouble codes are ? If not your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a GM dealer or someother qualified repair shop.
DTC B3142 or B3143
The body control module (BCM) provides an output to the driver switch assembly through the door unlock control circuit for controlling automatic door unlock, anti-lockout, and keyless entry unlock functions.
DTC B3152 or B3153
It could be the driver door master switch , could have broken wires inside the rubber boot from the body to the door . Do the power windows work ?
The keyless entry system has the following main components:
• The transmitters
• The body control module (BCM)
When you press a button on a transmitter, the transmitter sends a signal to the BCM. The BCM interprets the signal and activates the requested function.

How did you do this ,,checked and made sure locks and remote programmed, they were, but still do not work ?????

Need a scan tool to program
Important: All key fobs must be programmed each time any one fob is programmed. The scan tool must stay connected until all of the transmitters are programmed.
Install a scan tool and navigate to the BCM Module Setup menu.
Select Program Key Fobs.
Follow the scan tool on-screen directions.
When the programming operations have completed, operate the transmitter functions to verify correct system operation.

Locks on Back Doors, and more...

This is because your master switch on the drivers door may have corroded oxidation on the contacts inside the switch and that master switch is the feed for all inside door lock switches your remote and keypad work because those electrical signals go through the driver door module you must clean all contacts on the master switch get them shiny you can use 4/0 steel wool and alcohol and also take the lock switch apart and clean the button contacts inside the switch for this use alcohol and 1000 grit sandpaper glued to a pencil and lightly spin in your fingers to shine the contacts sometimes just an eraser works but it depends on the quality of it so go with the sandpaper glued to the pencil or any circular object that will fit inside after this blow out the switch and use the alcohol to clean out and let dry

2001 Mercury Villager keyless remote is malfunctioning

Keyless Entry
The keyless entry system consists of the following:
  • smart entry control(SEC)/timer module
  • keyless entry remote transmitters
  • power door lock actuators
  • body side door power door lock actuator
  • liftgate actuator
  • power door lock switches
  • door ajar switches
  • Principles of Operation
All doors can be locked at once by turning the door key lock switch to the locked position. An individual door can be unlocked by moving the door key lock switch to the unlocked position and turning it again within five seconds; all the doors (including the liftgate) will unlock.
The smart lock system is designed to keep the driver from locking his keys in the car. It will lock and then unlock all the doors if the smart entry control(SEC)/timer module detects the following conditions:
    • The ignition key still in the ignition.
    • A front door is open.
    • A door lock switch has been pushed to the lock position.
The panic feature has a duration of 30 seconds from the last time the PANIC button is pressed. When locking the doors from the remote transmitter, the horn chirp/lamp flash feature can be disabled or enabled by holding the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons for two seconds. The hazards will flash three times to confirm that the feature has be enabled or disabled.
The control module probably see's an input that shouldn't be there . lock Switch , door ajar etc... Don't think it has anything to do with the remote . Some part stores have a tester to see if signal from the remote is working . Or the dealer ! Take it an see if your remote is sending a signal without you pressing any buttons .
If it is you need a new one .

Sliding doors won't lock or unlock using keyless.

there are 3 possibilities that I would check first. 1: make sure the contacts on the door, and body where the touch are clean. the lock and unlock signal are sent through these. 2: You may try replacing the battery in your key fob. 3: the power lock motors may have gone bad. To check, lock the doors with the drivers door panel, if they lock, they are fine. Another solution may be to recode your key fob. procedure for coding the fob to your vehicle can be found online.
