1997 dodge intreped 3.3L has a code p1698

2 ways to work with this, 1) get a hanes manual there is a section that will tell you what system these codes are talking about, 2) go to local auto parts store and ask to use the OBD handheld and that may also tell you about the code.

If the Eagle is 2 wheel drive try to determine if it has a 41te or 42te transmission. These can be interchanged by a knowledgeable mechanic assuming your vehicle is compatible. Many times these transmissions are referred to as a 604 or 606 respectively. The weak link in the 604 is it's output shaft splines.

Hi Don The code you have is 'No CCD Messages Received From PCM' Hope this helps. Different manufactures use different terminology for a number of units and I have no idea what they are referring to. If this makes sense to you please tell me what they mean. I'm also learning. Best regards John

P1698 Chrysler

ECM fault-No CCD message from TCM
- Failed ECM

Probable Cause[s]

1. Open CCD bus line
2. Failed TCM

P1495 Chrysler

EVAP leak detection pump solenoid circuit condition
- ECM detected the pump solenoid did not change status when activated

Probable Cause[s]

1. Pump solenoid defective
2. Open or shorted circuit condition
3. ECM Defective

code1494 leak detection pump switch does not respond to input. code 1698 no message received from transmission control module. hope this will help !!!
