Check the cable at ecm if it is pulled to tight up or down this will put stress on the pins and result in a car that runs like it needs a tuneup

SOURCE: EGR valve

Have you run a fault code test on the engine control module? This testis is called an OBD2 fault code test, any Autozone will run it for you free. Do that first.

Why does my 1998 sebring idle fine but sputter badly under load.

Does it use spark plug wires or individual ignition coils for the each plug?. My 98 intrepid uses coils and occasionally I have to change them out cause it would start to miss when normal temperature was achieved. If it uses wires, try replacing them, along with the spark plugs.

Hi there ,you have something blocking your fuel filter and it sounds like sugar to me ,your cars symtoms are exactly what mine were after a cruel practical joke by a jealous ex ,what happens is the sugar doesnt dissolve in petrol so it ends up in the filter ,it can settle when you stop the car allowing it run again for a short time ,remove the filter and clean it out until it blocks again and repeat this until its all gone .THANK YOU USING FIX YA

2001 Chrysler Sebring, gas tank is 1/2 full. The gauge just started bouncing from 1/2 a tank to empty and back again.

it sounds like a bad wire to the fuel sending unit or the sending unit is no good, check the ground connections at gas tank, will need to follow plug that plugs into fuel pump asm, follow it back checking the connection and for frayed or loose wires. good luck., hope this helps you.

1998 Sebring cranks and fires but won't start?

I would put three cans of dry gas in the fuel tank. Let it sit for a few and then crank it over. The other issue may be that the fuel filter needs to be changed.
