You can use the oil for the towing package in either rear end, but what they want to know is if the rear end is posi track. to find out jack up the back of the jeep put the transmission in neutral and turn one of the rear wheel if the wheel on the other side turns in the same direction that you are turning the wheel then you have posi track if the wheel on the other side turns backwards the you don't. but like i said you can use the towing oil in either rear end when in dought use the towing oil.

My jeep (97 Jeep GC Lorado) won't shift into gear. I was told it needs to be rebuilt costing 2K-2.5K is it worth rebuilding?

depends on how much you love your jeep. honestly. not trying to sound mean. i know some jeep crazies that will spend any amount to keep their baby running. if the jeep isnt that much to you probably best to sell it. Blue book value is about 3500 in fair shape

I hace a 1996 jeep cherokee country with approx.

I'll put my money on something like brakes. They can be loud enough to hear at those speeds. Also just remove the rear axle cover and change the fluid if its never been done. Don't forget that locking diff additive if you have one. Level plug on cover of most or housing fill plug on some

1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Lorado - window tipped, roller broken

If the motor still actuates and moves when activated then no replacement is required. When the roller cracked it may have however burnt out the motor. replacing the roller and realigning the window is very easy.. the parts.... go see your local auto wrecker. they may be able to sell you a roller or 2 from a wrecked cherokee(and maybe pick up a spare motor while you're at it. This is usually the cheapest solution for parts.

The trans fluid type is DEXRON 4 (if still availiable) or better the new DEXRON 6, this fluid is either full synthetic or a blend and provides better trans performance and longer service life, Pennsoil makes a fairly cheap DEXRON 6, it is a blend...
