Wheres power steering pump located on 1997 ford contour,the power steering stoped working

However, typically, you can find the power steering reservoir under the hood, near the engine. It is often a small plastic or metal container with a cap labeled "Power Steering" or with a steering wheel icon.

Could be the pump or rack and pinion. Pumps usually whine real bad before dieing(especially when turning). The rack can blow a seal and die all of the sudden.

off the top my head not sure but u can find out by urself all u have to do is look under ur hood in the frount there should be a sticker for the belt placement it is labled

You might have a ground problem I would check all wiring around where the new brake lines were ran to

likely a multifunction switch problem but first try to replace the 4 way flasher with the signal flasher located under the steering colum fallow the clicking to locat flasher

it is in the power steering pump it has a one wire plug easy to change

The Powertrain Control Module is located at RH rear corner of engine compartment, behind the power steering reservoir.

tragik nc: In looking this car up in both the 4 and 6 cyl configurations, Ford said that the ignition control module is no longer a separate component. It is actually integrated into the PCM (power control module)

Open the hood and look at the very back corner (passenger side) of the engine compartment, there will be a white plastic bottle with a black thread on lid. This is where the power steering fluid goes. The bottle has marks on the side of it to indicate how far to fill if needed.

If headlight do not come on, leave them on and start check ground and power.
If headlights do come on then locate the starter and fine something to tape on it, not too hard,
but before u can do this have someone set inside the car with the key turn in the start position...
