Is the AC compressor running when the air temperature starts to warms up?? I need to know if the large line from the AC compressor is getting cold, should be almost frosty?
You probably replace the wrong switch. I believe the high pressure switch is mounted in the back of the compressor. Pull the plug and jump it. If it works, replace the switch. I don't recommend you leave the jumper in the plug. If it the A/C pressure is to high, you could blow lines and such. Costing you a lot of money.
first of all why did you charge the system it never needs to be recharged unless you have a leak in it that being said when you turn on the ac do you hear the compressor clutch kick in and if so do you see condensation on the accumulator and does it feel cold? yes/no if yes then the vacuum door inside the car is not opening thus giving you warm air========if no the refrigerant leaked out again because of a leak ///// or the cycling switch is bad///// or there is still not enough refrigerant in the system to get the switch to turn on the compressor//// or your compressor is n/g
The first thing to do is see if the AC compressor on the engine is running and if it is check to see if the larger of the two lines from the compressor is cold, if it is not cold and the compressor is not running then you have lost the charge of refridgerant due to a leak, if it is cold and AC compressor is running then the door inside the dash called the "Blend door" is stuck in the heated air position and you must replace it and the actuator that moves it.
What do you mean when you say it wont shut off? is it blowing hot air or do you just feel a lite flow of hot air even if you have the settings to cold?
If this is the problem that you always feel hot air at low flow and the ac goes to hot air then i would say one of two things, first if you have the selector to cold and you feel hot air then there may be a problem with the blend door, this door move to allow hot or cold air, the door may be broken or just a bad motor that controls it. keep in mind if the ac system shuts down for any reason the air then will be warm, it will be about the same temp as outside and maybe a little hotter.
this problem almost sounds like the ac compressor shuts off and then you are getting the outside air which is hot, there are many reasons for the compressor to shut off, it could be the compressor clutch heating up and disengaging , this would be due to a bad compressor clutch.
another reason is the fans are not working, the best thing to do is when the system starts to blow warm check and see if the compressor is running, start engine and look at the front of compressor, with ac off the front of it will not move, and then with ac on the front will spin, check it out and let me know, if it blows warm air and ac is not working then it may be compressor problem but if you are getting warm air and the compressor is spinning then it may be a door problem.
This is hard to check with out testing the system, so i listed a few things to check and let me know the out come. also the ac blows cold for how long before it gets hot air blowing out of the vents, good day.
The flap that directs cold air and warm air may be stuck in warm air position. This flap is controlled by a vacuum operated actuator that is attached to the vacuum lines and the control panel. This can go bad. Otherwise check in compressor sight glass to make sure there is no air bubbles or fog, that would indicate a leak in the system
First open the hood and find the a/c compressor. Once located leave hood open and then start the Jeep. With the air on look under the hood and see if the compressor is turning. Make sure not only the outer pulley is turning but see if the center in the middle of the pulley is spinning to. If it is not then it could be a fuse that runs the clutch for it. Check this out and let me know.
yes hot air blower works good ac line under hood gets cold
Ac blows out warm air
