Hi, I have a 2000 chevy express cutaway 3500 with a short in the brake light circuit. I can unhook the plug behind the driver seat which runs to the rear and I still blow the fuse. I can unhook the brake switch an I do not blow the fuse but the circuit is still open at that point. The brake switch is in proper working order an is ok. My question is, What else can be causing this problem. I wanted to rule out any ABS or sensor problems before starting the look for a short. The wires going from the brake switch appier to go up under the dash. Thank you

As I answer every electrical problem

You as stated, are about to check wiring,
for a possible short

How are you going to do that ?
What is your road map ?

You need wiring diagrams BEFORE
you start ANY wiring problems

Where would you start, what would you check
what is the system made up of ?

The VSS is located on the front passenger's side of the transfer case. Pull back on the metal clip as well as the black wire harness connector, and then pull it straight out.

Left Hand only SIgnal and Brake lights on a 2008 chev 3500 cutaway not working

Turn signal/ multifunction switch. Replace it. All the exterior lights run threw it except the high mount brake light. Check the brake lights. If the high mount works and the others don't . That is a sure sign.

If you have an aftermarket trailer plug on there, disconnect it. The wires are probably bare or the plug in itself is corroded. If it's not that then you have bare wires shorting out somewhere back there.
