All of my dash lights on my 2000. s10 are on. They will not come on untill I pull the gear shifter to put my truck in gear but when I do that all of my lights come on like the security light and ABS light. The abs light started flashing the other day it would randomly cut on and off with no pattern and I was wondering what could possibly be wrong with my truck. The truck has a 2.2 motor in it

SOURCE: abs light on

I'm a Ford service adviser. There are many reasons for the
abs warning indicator to come on. The usual cause is from a
faulty speed sensor. Either a wheel speed sensor or the
differential speed sensor. I don't think the light is related to your vandalism. You might want to take the truck to an auto parts store and have them read the codes for you. Most auto parts stores will do this for free.

SOURCE: 97 Lumina dash warning lights stay on

does you car vibrate a little if so mabe you abs system is out which would cause the check engine light to stay on with the abs light. Once you fix the side that vibrates which is probbly the wheel bearings and the abs is connected and that will get the lights to go off or it has a bad connection test wires for abs with light idicator?

SOURCE: 2001 chevy s10 blazer abs light stays .

The abs is a add on for the brakes that when the tires come into a skid or slid they wont lock up..Your brakes will still work great with the abs disabled but your brakes will lock up if you push on the brakes hard enough to stop.Mainly abs works in slippery conditions not letting the tires lock up and keep the car rolling instead of making it slide..But no effect of the brakes will happen..Just make sure your fluid is full and there are no leaks and if you want to get them check you can stop by your local Auto Zone and they will scan your car for free and tell you what sensor is bad..I hope this was helpful to you...Have a great night

My nissan pulsar 2000 automatic.gear lever sticks in park.

Hi Jenn. All vehicles have a shifter interlocker system , it's a safety feature that won't allow the shifter to be put into gear ,unless the drivers foot is pressing the brake pedal . Do your brake lights work ? This is just a general idea on how it works , because all car makes don't do it the same ! On the brake pedal under the dash is a switch an when you press the brake pedal it allows power to go to a solenoid unlocking the shifter ,allowing the driver to put the vehicle into gear ! You would need to find a wiring diagram so you could check voltage at the brake switch , into an out of the brake switch with the pedal pushed ! Then find the lock out solenoid an see if power is being applied to it ! Hope this helps

2000 buick regal key gets stuck and car will not turn over

The stuck key could be the following. There is a cable that runs from the gear shifter to the ignition switch. Jiggle the shifter in park and simultaneously gently move the key to off and pull the key out. The key in and not fully turned to off will drain the battery.

2000 sable- can't shift out of park. shifter glides and needle on dash moves there's no gears shifting. is the transmission blown?

Not likely a blown transmission. More of a shifter cable issue. There is an adjustment nut on the ****** end. It could be loose or missing. If the nut is fine you have a broken cable.

theres locking pins that hold it in gear that kind of resemble a door latches it`s my guess that there springs are no good and they just are staying open allowing it to slip back out of gear.

'95 Chevy S10 stuck in first gear

I think the shift linkage is all internal so if you can get the shifter pulled out of the top of the trans through the floor, you can probably realign the linkage to a neutral position and reinstall shifter.
There may be something worn or broken that caused it or just one of those fluke happenings.

Can't get my 2000 ford taurus out of park

The gear selector is locked until the system detects the brake pedal is being pressed, the brake circuit then sends a signal to the shifter release solenoid to pull a pin back and let you shift out of park, this is a safety feature required by federal law, U need to have someone see if the brake lights go on when you press the pedal, if they don't check the switch at the top of the brake pedal, if the brake lights work then the little solenoid is defective.

2000 crown victoria -brake lites failed

You have a bad switch at the brake pedal. Or a loose wire. Try light pulling on the wires on the switch at the brake pedal under the dash. They should be tight and secure. If tight and secure the switch could be bad.
