seen many of these where a dash / interior light is staying on ... if you have a garage / make it dark. then check look to find light in small tight area.........
Also, GM cars from like 2000 to 2004 had problems with the radio. I just had this same kind of thing happen in my girlfriends 01 impala. The radio was draining the battery and causing the battery to keep failing. No start issues. Car alarm always going off. All sorts of lights appearing on the dash. Low tire pressure light, check engine, brake light, ABS. You get the idea. Put in an aftermarket radio and all is well now. If your radio is acting funny, you might want to look into that.
This is a problem with chevy vehicles that have the system theft light. after a couple of years of using the key, the lock tumblers inside the ignition switch tend to wear out and so causing the system to think it's being stolen. Now you have to put the key in and turn the ignition to the on position, without cranking the car and leave it for 10 minutes until the theft light goes out. Very annoying especially if you're in a hurry. The dealer cost to repair the ignition switch goes for about $600-$800. that includes re-teaching the key.
Check battery with a volt meter and see what kind of volts are in there. (should be at least 12) If lower, re-charge battery and clean terminals. (make sure you know radio code before removing terminal ends, and how to restore radio). Quick way to check battery is to leave the door open and look at the dome light, If it dims substantially when you attempt to crank engine, battery is likely low.
This sounds like a bad battery or a bad connection at the battery, the guages are the key, check the cables for a white power, this is battery acid corrosion and must be cleaned off, auto zone or kragen auto will test your battery for free.
