This happened to me just last year! I removed the battery connection for about 5 min and replaced it. Fortunately, it didn't ask me for a radio code when I put the battery back on. What ever the problem was, it reset itself and the mute is now unstuck.

It's the old power down and reboot solution. Works every time!

Thanks and good luck!

Audio on my radio in my 2015 buick lacrosse not working. Same for the sound on my blinkers, they work just no sound.

Does the radio display work, suggesting that it's turned on, or is the radio display blank? Have you checked the owner's manual to see if maybe the radio is just off or muted? If you determine the radio is not off or muted and display is working as expected, then the issue might be a problem with the audio amplifier. If you're lucky it might just be a blown fuse that blew for no apparent reason, but it could also be a faulty amplifier. Do you still have a warranty? Have you checked with the dealer to see if they can take a free look to determine if it's something simple?

I purchased a 2006 nissan pathfinder. The system plays but there is no sound coming out what do I do?

hi

I would check out the radio features and make sure the radio isn't on mute or the fader is turned in the wrong direction or there is another button depressed muting the sound.

if that s ok you will have to remove the radio and check to see if the speaker wires are still connected to the stereo

if they are you will have to remove the door trims and see if the wires are still connected to the speakers as well

check the radio features first

cheers

My radio stopped working and just says PHONE with the phone icon on Display. 2006 mountaineer.

Try pressing the phone key on the display. It sounds like you have hit a mute setting for taking or making telephone calls. It is possible that the Sync system is waiting for you to enter a phone number and has killed the radio for the call.

1996 Ford Explorer factory Radio works but when i install the aftermarket radio no sound comes out from it what do i do ..??

Does it light up? Does it have a mute button? Does it have a mute wire for in vehicle phone systems? If so, it may need to be grounded to take it out of mute, or it may need to go to 12 volts + It depends on how the circuit was designed.

If those check out, or it lights up but no muting make sure the speakers are connected to the correct wires. Also check to make sure the speakers are not grounded. Two wires should go to each speaker. you can check the condition of the speakers with a 9 volt battery touched across the leads, you will hear a pop sound. make sure those two wires for each speaker are connected to the radio correctly.

Radio is on, can change stations, scan, seek, but no sound comes out

sounds like the speaker wire plug in may have come loose..pull radio from dash and check,,,or check to see if you have mute button on your radio. newer models have them
