I have a 1993 ford explorer, every time i turn the ke to the run position, it blows the ignition 60amp maxi fuse under the hood. The first time this happened, I replaced the fuse and the SUV ran fine for a day or so. After i drove over a fairly lage bump the fuse blew again. Now the fuse blows everytime the key is turned on. I've replaced the fuse about 15 times, checking different components on the ignition system (unpluging coil pack, ignition module, and other accessories that get power when the key is turned, also the starter, altenator, pretty much every thing i could think of). What's next? I know there has to be a short somewhere to blow a fuse like that. I have replaced the ignition switch, didn't help. What could be the problem with my Ford?

I'm no expert but when you turn key to run position, this turns the fuel pump on if the pump is faulty i would think it would blow the fuse also. Or its your theory a short in the ignition system wiring.

Would using a 80 amp fuse instead of a 60 amp fuse in a 1993 Geo Metro cause problems with the starter?

It shouldn't be. The starter is going to pull as many amps as it needs. The fuse is to protect the wiring and keep the car from catching fire in case the starter fails and tried to pull more current than it should. That being said you need to change it back. 80 amps is 33% more current than what that circuit is designed to carry. Being that it's a 1993 you should probably be on your 3rd starter by now

I have a 1999 Buick Regal with no eletrical power. The fuse block under the hood has no power therefore all circuits are dead. There is power going to the box but that where it stops. Is there some sort of...

The wiring diagram is showing two 60amp maxi fuses coming from the battery post in or under the fuse box. The box is called the underhood accessory wiring junction block so it may only hold 2 or 3 fuses.
The two maxi-fuses power most of whats in the main fuse box.

'99 Ford Crown Vic LX: #12 30A Maxi fuse blows seconds after starting or ignition turned on.

i had this problem with my 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo with the brake lights it kept popping fuses right after the ignition was turned on try putting a higher amp fuse in place of the old one that keeps blowing then check for shorts to the starter and check grounds and wires and also the transmission issue check the fluid and then if the fluid is fine change the transmission filter the filter may have not gotten replaced when the transmission was rebuilt and may be clogged or dirty

Blinkers and hazards don't work on my 1998 ford explorer what can it be ?

Assuming your battery is charged, ignition is on and the bulbs are all good

This sounds like a FUSE.

Be sure to check under the dash on both sides, drivers and passenger side.
Also under hood for any MAXI fuses...

Hope this helps you out.

Good Luck and Happy Motoring
