I'm having a issue with our 1998 dodge ram 1500 4x4 V6, it started when I disconnected the battery to put it in a jeep, I reconnected the same battery back into the dodge to find the alarm lights flashing with no sound and now the pickup won't start or even turn over.. is there a security code or feature I wasn't informed with? I read and read and read the owners Manuel to find out how to fix it, but it ain't got anything for replacing the battery and putting in a code afterward? Solution? Help!!

I replaced the themostat on my jeep and disconnected the temp sensor. I forgot to reconnect and started it. Now the service engine light is on. How can I get it off?

disconnect your negative battery terminal from your battery for thirty seconds.....make sure your sensor is plugged back in, then reconnect your battery terminal. That will do the trick unless you have another issue with your vehicle.I hope I could help..HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

1998 Jeep power drains battery over night

Before you disable your alarm try this, disconnect the alternator field plug over night, check battery voltage at the battery before you disconnect the plug then disconnect and leave alone over night, make sure you have at least 12 volts when you disconnect the alt.
Recheck battery voltage in the morning before you reconnect the field plug...

I suspect you may have a leaking diode in your alternator's internal regulator, have seen it many times on your model... Certainly worth a try. Let me know how it turns out....

WON'T START

Check if you can if it doesn't have some kind of alarm system that locks out when battery disconnected.(owners manual, or where you bought the vehicle), then I'd check all the fuses, starting with any under the hood to see if maybe one of those blew when hooking up new battery.
