If you turn them and open hood and can hear the wiper motor running then something is stripped in the gearing, not very common. Otherwise check for power getting motor by unplugging motor and use test light.

There is a 2X4" circuit board to control the wiper motor. Its less than $20 on-line. You will need torx head screwdriver to replace it.

How do I stop the windshield wipers from working

This may seem strange but all cars are strange to work with. I had one recently that would not turn on and it was the ground wire for the motor itself not the wiring the easiest way to test is take a test light and get a good ground and touch the motor and it should not light up if so run you a ground from the screw that holds the motor in place to a good ground it should work Good Luck Mike

2003 Impala wipers don't work have power and new motor but nothing moving when on

Depending on what your trying to do with wipers, I'd want to see voltage on the gray and or purple wire. See the black wire at the bottom that is ground, a good ground is a must. Hey Jeff, I'm not trying to bug you. If I spend time trying to look up info, I'm going to post it. I don't care if the question has already been answered. Have a good day.

My windshields wipers wont work

If that happens, your windshield wipers will not work at all and you won't be able to clear any water, dirt, or snow that ends up on your windshield. Replace the windshield wiper motor right away. The windshield wiper fuse is burnt out. When the windshield wiper motor is overloaded, the fuse burns out.23 Nov 2015

2003 Pontiac Montana wipers not working how to fix

First you need a wiring diagram, free at http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Then you need a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter to test the circuit . Then if your not familiar with automotive electrical systems testing ,go on youtube an check out Electric Testing Techniques You Need to Know Also having a factory diagnostic trouble shooting chart would also be usefull . You could just start replacing parts , you mite get lucky . The wiper motor is a high fail part , so is the switch ..You could find the fuse is blown ! But fuse's don't usually blow without a reason . Short to ground , low resistance . ( high current flow) Also knowing how they work and what all is involved in making them work.
The Wiper/Washer System consists of the following components:
• Windshield wiper/washer switch
• Windshield wiper motor module
• Windshield wiper motor
• Windshield washer pump motor
• FRT/WPR/WSHR 25A fuse

Wiper/Washer System Operation
The windshield wiper motor module is part of the windshield wiper motor cover and controls wiper motor operation. The windshield wiper motor is a 2 speed motor and is operated at low speed in all modes except HIGH. The accessory voltage supply circuit to the windshield wiper motor assembly is used to operate the wiper motor in all of the low speed modes. The accessory voltage supply circuit to the windshield wiper/washer switch is used to supply the windshield wiper switch signal circuits and the wiper motor high speed circuit.
When the wiper/washer switch is in the LOW position voltage is supplied through a 24K ohm resistor within the switch to the windshield wiper switch signal 2 circuit, and accessory voltage is supplied to the windshield wiper switch signal 1 circuit. The reduced voltage from the wiper switch signal 2 circuit and accessory voltage from the wiper switch signal 1 circuit causes the wiper motor module to close the wiper motor accessory voltage supply circuit to the wiper motor low speed terminal.
Windshield wiper/washer system MIST operation is identical to LOW operation except that the MIST switch is a press and release type. When the wiper switch is moved to the MIST position and released, low speed wiper motor operation is started and will continue until 1 cycle is complete. If the wiper switch is moved to the MIST position and held, the windshield wiper motor will operate in the LOW mode until the switch is released.

Don't the wipers work in any mode ?

Does the test lamp illuminate?
YES - Go to Step 4
NO - Go to Step 13
4
Connect a test lamp from the accessory voltage circuit to the ground circuit of the windshield wiper motor.
Does the test lamp illuminate?

Windscreen wipers not working

WINDSHIELD WIPERS

It can be faulty wiper motor or blown wiper control fuse.

Do you hear any kind of noise when you starter the wiper function. If yes then fuse is ok, but issue is wiper motor.

If no movement at all and no noise then its blown fuse or shorted/loose wiper control wiring: -----

My windshield wipers quit working. getting juice to one of the 3 wires.

one wire will be power one wire will low speed wiper and one wire will be high speed wiper.you need to check the grounding of the wiper motor.if you take a jumper wire and attach one end to the battery, or a good ground at the motor or somewhere and the other end then make good contact to the body of the wiper motor and it should work,if it does then you need to permantly hook up a ground wire to the wiper motor.this was a common problem.

Windshield wipers don't work.Fuse is good and motor is good.No power to motor. The tag to tell what relay is for what is missing. Was wondering if the wipers had a relay and which one it is.

Hello Firerocker.
If your washer motor works there is power in the circuit and ground.
The wiper motor housing needs to be grounded.
If neither one works check for power on the green wire leading into the motor. If nothing there your switch may be bad.
If there is power to the green wire then check for power on the gray wire on low wiper speed and power on purple on high speed.
Here is a diagram if you need it.

Hope this gets your wipers going again.
