1995 toyota camry - sporadically my fan blower will/will not work. checked fuses, ok. what should i do from here?

  • Anonymous Feb 04, 2009

The switch and relay are good. The blower blower speed is limited to low. Can get a higher speed occasionally with bumps or even flipping the lever from inside to outside air.

A procedure for getting to the fan wiring that is different than the procedure for replacing the motor would be helpful. No garage and outside temps in the single digits prompts me to find a way.

Currently I open lower a window just enough and let suction do the rest.

Could be a bad switch, blower motor, resistor or bad ground/wiring problem....test for power at the motor and a good ground with switch and ignition on to see if power is getting through and go from there. Some import cars wire the circuit backwards which is the power is sent to the motor first and the grounding circuit goes through the resistor and fan switch.

Radiator fan not working on my 95 toyota camry

It could be:

- blown fuse (RDI -M fuse, 30A, in Relay block 5)
- failed relay (fan relay, same location)
- failed engine temp sensor (quite likely)
- broken wiring connector
- failed fan motor (not that likely)

Test procedures are here, after p261

THE FAN TO THE HEATER WILL NOT WORK WE REPLACED ALL THE RELAYS AND CHECKED THE FUSES BUT STILL WONT WORK.... THIS IS AN 1988 TOYOTA CAMRY 4 CYL.

There is a resistor pack that is in the heater box next to the blower motor, this is what gives the different blower speeds. They some-times burn-out cutting off the power.

1997 venture van. Fan for heat and A/C not working

Check the fuse and then the switch it self, if the fuse and switch is good. Then check the blower resistor and blower motor it self. I'm leaning towards the switch it self since you mentioned that it was sporadically and on the highest setting would by pass the blower resistors. Good luck and if it's not the switch then it's going to be the blower motor it self. Auto Zone has them in stock and can give you the step by step instructions for you to get the job done with common tools.

My fan doesn't work on my camry. what fuse is it that i need

You could try switching fuses. If that doesn't work you need to check for power at the fan motor.
