'04 Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel. I pulled the instrument cluster to try and replace a burned out bulb; much to my surprise there are no "bulbs" in the cluster, just something that look like soldered in LEDs. I replaced the cluster and re-connected the wiring looms. Now the speedometer and tachometer are jumpy, rather than moving smoothly (speedo jumps in increments of about 5 MPH). The fuel gauge is also reading incorrectly (not registering a full tank, seems to change every time truck is started). The other gauges seem to function normally (AMP, Temp and oil pressure at "normal" limits compared to what they were before R&R of cluster panel).

Sounds like you have a wire grounding out somewhere, or could be in the new cluster you put in. Check all your connections in the wiring, you could put the old cluster back in to see if it corrects your speedometer then you would know if its the "new" cluster you just put in giving you problems or whether you pulled a wire loose replacing the cluster.
Hope I was of some help to you. Good luck

On a 2004 chevy tahoe. Once the instrument cluster wire clip is detached and new bulbs are soldered on the cluster. Does the instrument cluster have to be reprogrammed ?

Shouldn't need reprogramming. I removed the cluster from my 04 Silverado and sent it in for repair and replacement of the bulbs. It was out of my truck for 2 weeks. When I got it back everything worked just fine, no problems at all.

04 dodge ram 3500 diesel with turbo blowing smoke from vaule cover breather and tail pipe plus lack of power

Could be head gasket, piston, or other nasty issue. Smoke isn't a good sign. Run a compression check, that may help indicate where the problem is.

Need to replace instrument cluster/AC bulbs

Hello, You can obtain a 2004 Ram Factory Service Manual with all of that information available from Promanuals.net. The reason why it may be so important is because right before the removal instructions the service manual has diagnostic instructions to try. There are numerous pages on removing the instrument cluster, and cluster bezel.

(1) Disconnect and isolate the battery negative
cable. (For Airbag)

(2) Remove the cluster bezel from the instrument
panel. (Refer to 23 - BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/
CLUSTER BEZEL - REMOVAL).

(3) Remove the four screws that secure the instrument
cluster to the instrument panel structural support
(Fig. 5).

(4) Pull the instrument cluster rearward far
enough to access and disconnect the instrument
panel wire harness connectors for the cluster from
the connector receptacles on the back of the cluster
housing.

(5) Remove the instrument cluster from the instrument
panel.

95 dodge ram 3500 turbo diesel left headlamp replace

Open the hood and look between the battery and the light. You will see the wires going to the bulb. Turn the bulb holder and it will slide out. This is easier to do with the battery out. If you do remove it, be careful with the wrences and the cables, I would disconnect the grounds for both batteries first.

Don't touch the glass on new bulb.

2001 corolla insturment panel lights

I had the same problem in my 2001 Corolla. Removing the cluster was not a problem. Remove the two screws securing the 'bezel' around the cluster. You may need to use a small screwdriver then to gently pry the bezel out from the top and remove. Then remove three screws securing the instrument cluster and pull it out. Because newer cars have all electronic guages, there is no speedometer cable to make it difficult. Just pull it out, turn it over and twist the green bulb holders to get to the bulbs.
