I would look under the hood on the drivers side of your vehicle, and look for a black box, the box normally has 2-3 plastic snaps, that you can un snap in order to remove the top plastic cover, this box should say relays / fuses, look inside for the fuel pump relay, they are labeled, and normally, the cover has a diagram on the inside of it to indentify the fuses, and relays, hope that this information has helped you.

The relay is located under the hood in the power distribution box.

SOURCE: saturn ion fuel pump

Misnikie32 . .. I just had the same problem around the time you figured out your problem and I just got it fixed yesterday. For almost 3 weeks I had starting problems and I constantly smelled gas. The problem is a safety issue and the car needs to be recalled. The hose that is connected to the fuel pump is cracked. Since the hose is incorporated with the fuel pump, the entire mechanism needs to be changed. Look at spending about 700.00 . I informed saturn and told them my life was at danger. Please contact them on their website and goto your state's attorney general and launch a complaint, as well as the office of defective investigations and the NTSAB (google them). This needs to be brought to their attention and all owners of this car. I googled this and many other people are having this problem. Some are even on this forum. PLEASE DO THIS ! ! ! !

Where is the fuel reset button on a 2004 saturn ion?

Your vehicle doesn't have a fuel reset button . Has a computer controlled relay . Fuel pump relay . Video's on youtube showing how to test fuel pump electrical circuit . This video is on a chevy vehicle , doesn't matter . It's a GM vehicle an your fuel pump works the same way.

Where would the fuse or relay for fuel pump be located in my 2003 ion

Look in the interior fuse block. It is located on the drivers side of the center counsel, just to the right or where our right leg would be. You will need to remove the trim panel. The fuses will be labeled on the inside of the panel. 2005 Ion 2 starts and shuts off immediately.

I would begin with the fuel pump relay and see if it is being powered after the engine starts.

I have a 2004 saturn ion and it won't start. I think it's gas related. Where and how do I replace gas sensors/filters or fuel pump? What do I try and replace first? How do I I tell which is bad?

If you haven't replaced the fuel filter in the last year or so, do it now-basic maintenance.
Check if the pump is working by turning key to ON (not crank), and listen for the pump in the tank to come on for a couple of seconds. Should hear a short hum or buzz verifying tank is working. If you don't hear it come on, either the pump is bad, or power is not reaching it. May have to pull the pump connector off at tank, and check for 12 volts on pump wire when someone cranks the car. If power there, the pump must be bad. If no power there at pump, check fuses for pump and fuel pump relay.

I replaced fuel pump but did not start, poured fuel in the air breather and it stays on until the fums run out.checked the pressure on the rack and nothing.is there a relay that doesnt work a fuse or is it...

The fuel pump relay is controlled by the PCM which uses the gray and black wires all the way back through the chaissis to the fuel pump. With the key on and no pressure at the rail the pump should be running. If there is no power out of the PCM (Power Train Control Module) to the fuel pump relay the fuel pump will not work

If your looking for the fuse the fuse location is in the FREE owners manual here: (2.62 Mb)
http://www.aboutautomobile.com/OwnerManual/2004/Saturn/ION Check the IGN fuse.... and the fuel pump relay (page 330)

Some fuses are in a fuse block on the driver's side of

the vehicle, near the driver's right leg. Loosen the screw
on the cover and remove the cover.

06 saturn ion 2.2 power steering ligt comes on

There is no fluid in that system. You may have a relay going bad or something. With these electrical issues, I would go see the dealership since not many shops will know what to do with this system.
