It is my understanding that you have to take it to vw dealer or a vw mechanic and have them check or change tranny fluids. not positive bout it but that is what i was told. daughter just got a jetta turbo and that is what we were told by a friend of hers that has one.

I can confirm there is no dipstick for the auto trans on any VW. It's meant to be a sealed transmission with the fluid lasting the lifetime of the transmission. If its not leaking then it shouldn't be a concern.

I need to know where i am supposed to check my transmission fluid on my 1994 vw jetta. i have looked everywhere and can't find the stick

It it is an auto, you check it through the bottom. There is a bolt in the middle of the drain plug iirc.. When you pull the bolt out the fluid should just drip a tad, kinda like checking a manual. The only thing is I cant remember if the car has to be running or not or if this.

How do i check transmissiom fluid 2006 jetta

Hi there,

Jetta's 2006 carry sealed gear box. There is no dip stick to check the transmission fluid. Per manufacturer, transmission fluid requires to change unless there is any issue with transmission. I hope this helps.

Where do i check the transmission fluid 2001 jetta

the auto transmission is a maintnance free trans and does not have a dip stick at all. it has a check plug and has to be on a lift at proper running temp and completly level. the auto also uses very special fluid from vw and using another atf will damage this transmission.

How can i check my transmission fluid level in a 2002 jetta gls 1.8t

you cant usually you dont need to if you ever do decide to get it out of there for new one you have to take it in they got to use a special tool to fill it back in. i got a 01 no problems so far dont worry about that those cars dont have a dip stick to check it becauce toy dont really need to check it car will probably break down or engine mess up before it runs out of fluid,

TRANSMISSION OIL LEAK

Hi, if there is no dip stick, the transmission may be sealed. in this case, your issue will be a main seal or faulty transmission pane seal(gasket). if possible, raise your vehicle so that you can get a good look at the pan and main seal area..

Just bought used Jetta leaking trans fluid - can't be fixed w/o major labor?

i dont know where you live
there are many independent repair shops out there that would do the job for alot less
here is one trick i have found that work very good.
go to a professional auto parts store like a carquest or a NAPA and ask the counter person who he would recomend a independent repair shop that is familar with the VW cars
dont give up you will find a great mechanic that will help.
good luck
