YOU PROBABLY HAVE BAD SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES.YOU NEED TO CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS AND CHANGE FUEL FILTER.THIS LITTLE TUNE UP SHOULD HELP.ANY TIME YOU SPRAY ETHER DOWN AIR INTAKE TO GET ENGINE STARTED YOUR ENGINE NOT GETTING ENOUGH FUEL OR SPARK TO COLD START.YOU NEED RICH FUEL MIXTURE ON COLD ENGINE START UP.AS ENGINE WARMS UP FUEL MIXTURE HAS TO BE LEAN.
Hi! First of all check the radiator and auxillary fans for they may be blowing weak, have it replaced to cool down the engine better. Faulty water pump can cause overheating too, you will need to replace this for better engine coolant circulation. Check the timing belt/chain before cranking the engine again for if this is torn down it will damage the engine. IF the timing belt/chain is fine then I suspect the rotors and distributor cap. If this is faulty there will be no electric current to the spark plug to start up the engine. Hope this helps and have a good one!
Check disconected vacumm line hose,
clean EGR.
change spark plugs do a tune up.Increase idling speed.
Put a can of fuel cleaner injector cleaner into the fuel. Then put another one the next day after driving for 100 km.

You should be illuminating the check engine light. If so, rent a scanner, read the codes and pursue to repairs. You should replace the fuel filter and check the air cleaner. The fuel pump may be on it's last legs--check fuel pressure at the fuel rail over the injectors (a tire-valve looking test port). The pressure should be ~45 to 55 PSI with the engine running.
It may be the timing on the vehicle! I was having the same problem, and now I am replacing the timing belt and serpentine belt. I pray that it is the problem and that it fixes what was going on. My car basically stalled when I came to a stop or slowing down fast. Eventually, when I came to a stop got out, and when I got back in, it wouldn't start. So, I may be wrong but I am hoping I am right because of the time and effort that I have put in this vehicle.
