1996 Dodge neon SOHC. Car has 33k. Its my grandmothers who rarely drove it obviously. Well lately I have been getting a CEL and when ran says the #1 cylinder is lean and is misfiring. I am going to replace the ign. coil, plugs and wires. Change the fuel filter and the oil. Pop in a new air filter but suspect the problem to be the injector. Does this sound right? Like I said the car is rough to start but dosent seem to hesitate when I am driving it. Does this make sense to anyone?

No it doesn't
If the injectors all click, move on

Start with the codes you have
Give them to us

Clean MAF Sensor
Install new O2 Sensors --if 15 years old
New Spark Plugs

I wouldn't think the exhaust converter is doing
much after 15 years

well its a long shot but it could be your catalytic converter is going bad or is clogged, i have seen them get so hott they glow red. this sometimes can be seen at night by looking under your car after it has ran to the point of stalling and dieing,, if thats the problem the car cant exhaust creating back pressure that robbs power and can cause your car to die.. after it cools the metal shrinks back and the car will runn again untill it getts hott.. i hope this helps

Call the Dodge dealer near you and give them your VIN number. They will be able to tell you what the vehicle came stock with. If they have it go there and get it as it came with this filter from the factory.

How old is the battery? Clean the connections, charge the battery. Try starting it. Get the battery tested at Autozone or some place like that.

Hello, you could try pulling it and the pipe off and cleaning it before replacing it. An egr is pretty expensive. When you go to clean it use Carb cleaner.
