1998 chevrolet silverado 2 days ago my heat stopped working while driving down the interstate late at nite .air now blows cold & only comes from only the defrost. also the radio stopped working at the same time. when this happened there was a faint electrical burning smell, i pulled over and made sure nothing was on fire and checked all the fuses and they were all good.

Check the resistor connector sometimes burns if hvac is left in the same possition all the time. For safty reasons hvac always goes to default witch is defrost. Pop out the glove box and check resistor is right there, also radio and hvac wiring is in the same harness. PS hvac, heating,ventilation,air conditioning. good luck Kirk, fe6fc

The vehicle has overheated that coolant that leak out that is why the air condtion doesnt get cold. The vehicle is trying to communicate to you you have a coolant leak going on

your ac compressor is freezing up try not putting it on cold all the way. put thermostat towards the red jus a lil but still on the cold side to see if that helps

No heat

If it had dexcool orange coolant in it, the heater core is probably plugged, pull off the hoses and blow air through it, the dexcool breaks down and clogs everything. I had this problem a month ago and the core was plugged badly. Hope this helps

Temp. actuator stuck on heat , probably . Manual or automatic climate control . Electrically controlled temp actuator , or the door is stuck in heat side.
