IFITTED A NEW REVERSING SWITCH ON MY CLASS A140 MERCEDES AND FOUND THE REVERSING LIGHTS STAYED ON ALL THE TIME, EVEN IN NEUTRAL.I changed it three times in case of faulty switch still the same problem
switch ignition on and immediatley press the button on bottom left of speedo twice turn ignition off press and hold same button whilst turning ignition back on holding in the said button after ten seconds the new interval will appear let go of said button turn off ignition job done
Sounds to be a loose or corroded wire/s at either starter motor or at battery fusible links. Also check the earth strap (Cable) between engine and bodywork. Hope this helps, MMP
