We have a ford f250 and just replaced the starter in it and when we try to start it all we get is a clicking noise. Have cleaned the battery terminals and made sure they are tight but still nothing but a clicking noise. Its like its not get enough power to start. Any suggestions?

Is the battery fully charged and have you put a load test on the battery to ensure no dead cells?

If battery is not the issue, could be the started solenoid.

My ford 2001 v10 f250 does not crank start or click what wrong change starter and solenoids

Might be bad starter relay, or bad ignition switch. Check for voltage to starter when key in start position, or turn on headlamps and try to start. If lamps dim, bad battery connections, bad ground, bad replaced starer. If lamps do not dim, starter position on switch may be bad. You could try using jumper from battery to start post on solenoid to see if it cranks. If it does, you have either a bad ignition switch, start relay, or wiring problem.

I have a 1999 Ford F250 Super Duty 5.4 litre gas engine. When I turn the key to start it all I get is 1 click it sounds like from the dash area. Do I have a bad solenoid?

Do all the lights...headlights, etc.....turn on and are bright like it has a fully charged battery? If so, try tapping on the starter with a small hammer or whatever. If the starter will now turn the engine over, it is time for a starter motor replacement. 11 year old starter might have given up by now.

95 F250 not starting

You said you tightened the battery cables, did you check the other end of the negative where it bolts to the engine. When you tightened the cables you also used a battery brush and cleaned the posts and ends?

My 1992 f250 wont turn over or anything it just clicks? what wrong with it?

THIS IS BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT GETTING THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF VOLTAGE TO STARTER ARE STARTER IS BAD FIRST CHECK CONNECTION AT BATTERY CLEAN TIGHT. THEN AT STARTER.THEN TRY TO JUMP BATTERY. IF THAT DOESNT WORK REPLACE STARTER

I have a 1999 F250 7.3 Diesel engine and it will not start. All you hear is a clicking noise. That's it. I've replaced both batteries and had the starter checked out which shows it does work. Does anyone...

Might want to check the Starter Cellenoid or starter relay located on inner fender on passenger side. You can try and jump the two big terminals with a screw driver. Make sure key is on (on position) and vehicle in Park if automatic and Nuetral if manual.....

Won't start, click

Need to remove the starter and take it to an auto parts store and have it checked, Most likely you should have the starter relay checked first

Battery good, wont turn over, just a click when try to start

it is most likley starter relay or starter.with vehicle in park and e-brake on have someone tap on the starter with hammer while your trying to start.if starter starts to crank then you know the starter is on the way out.if starter does not crank it may already be shot.srarter relay is on fire wall check power + ground.
