It sounds like the Crankshaft Position Sensor or CPS is going bad. Eventually it will stall and not restart. It may be getting hot and causing it not to read where the crank is at. Good Luck.

That is very possibly the reason, do you have a check engine light on the dash? Other possibilities are fuel pressure dropping as the pump gets warmer, leaking injectors or o-rings, or crank sensor heat sink problems. even if your check engine light is not on, you may have a 'pending' code' that can be read if you have a scanner hooked to the OBDII port-most commercial retail auto parts stores will do this for no charge, just make sure they tell you the actual code (i.e. cam sensor codes are usually P0340-P0341)

Please Help. My 03 Hyundai Tiburon won't start

not told correctly at all !
  • starter motor (cranking) is dead silent or clicks or only its relay clicks?
  • or (i will answer for ned one here ,only, the hard one.!)
  • start motor spins fast and the engine cranks fast but the engine does not start or starts and stalls in 2second flat.?
sorry cant see your car fail or hear it fail. not me, and MATTERS
the service manual covers that, SURE does.
even some sensors must be gapped to work installed
so guessing CKP bad, can now by 2 problems just throwing it in
and not reading the service manual first
but wait you forgot to scan it first the PCM so work blind, really?
the PCm scans will show P03xx codes that state CMP or CKP fails
not looking first is why you failed, even using wrong new parts
and what V6 IS THERE. 2.7L IT IS, USA CARS , I only do USA.
DTC P0335, is ckp bad, crank sensor and if replace not it is bad again. learn to SCAN first and not add bad parts over good. ok?
335 error page shows Out of allowable air gap
I looked at new sensors and they are not the tunable kind.

the internet is full to the max with no starts and ckp sensor swaps guessing and 99% fail.
well guessing does that. as does most have bad cam belt. oops.\
we even see barking up wrong tree, starter dead CKP swaps
now car has 2 bad problems. and wrong sensor put it .
now this V6 is hybrid cam drive engine, 2 cams each head are chain drive but the cams down are belt
and the belt fails at 60k to 100k miles and now is TIMED wrong
the PCM sees that gross ERROR and cuts SPARK dead.
and DTC for CKP AND CMP not in SYNC errors due to the silly $30 belt died, as ALL DO and soon.

the bad belt is here
see clearly goes inside engine this is not and accessory drive belt
it is for the 4 cams here.

xxxxxx,
iit must be timed correctly or engine will not run or bends valves.

2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi 5.7 engine any idea?

crankshaft sensor
stop here, this error P03xx most not be ignored ever, and you did.
all other words there are normal. for bad CKP sensors

to make spark (called precursors)
CKP must be 100% good
then CMP some DOHC with VVT have 4. .
and on modern cars 2007 they PCM sees them out of sync
it cuts spark to not bend head valves over, (a wise bit of logic)
this is push round roller rocker central cam.
so chain cam simple engine,
the CKP sensor is bad. and easy fix
you did not post all P03xx DTC codes, at all, but if it only said, ckp fails then only it is bad,
why mention cam when crank sensors fails.

Runs for an hour then will not start act like its vapor locked

its EFI they dont vapor lock , like carbs, not at all.
so lost spark, test spark on all cylinders.
if you lost it all , you dropped the ASD relay?
if you have spark try test fuel,. (spray)
im now posted this everytime , no spark. my 3 time now, trying to reach a new record..... LOL
no scan , tool so on your car , you do the CEL falsh code deal.
see in the fsm under emission+diagnostics.

ASD "automatic shut down relay"
what is it?
it cuts fuel (and spark) if the PCM thinks, there is any danger of crash and burn.
The PCM drops the ASD for many reason, this list is all years. (some are missing on early years)

1: sees the spark weak or dead on the ignitor or coil primary pin. (it knows spark is bad)
2: Crank sensor bad. or misfiring. CKP
3: cam sensor bad, or misfiring , CMP.
4: ASD input read back pin fails. (PCM commanded it but it refused to do its job)
5: same ASD output fails. i commanded it but the relay is bad. dead.
6: Immoblizer active. (failing or bad key etc,)

if the ASD drops driving or even parked idling
one of the above caused it.

the ASD has engine startup logic that is unique to JEEPs.
you must crank with in seconds or the key on is ignored by many jeeps.
you crank and the above 6 must not fail during the start event or it cuts the ASD.

note carefully, if spark is bad cranking, the ASD cuts spark 100% more dead.(funny, but very true ,read the ASD schematic)

you only get 2 seconds to get the 6 factors true or the game is all over.
if when driving, it sees one of the 5 fail, ASD drops.
in fact ASD can drop then come back. while drive, people say it cuts out.

if true, using any dirt cheap scan tool will show why,

DTCs tell you. Cmp /ckp or spark dead.
pending or live DTC
freeze frame, dtc will show what failed.
and even seeing RPM drop like a rock, faster than any crankshaft can spin down, dig?

or loss of 12vdc power to the PCM , does all this above. DIES.

My car stalls in traffic, some time it won't start. i have had this car to the shop twice. its there now. the car will stall, cut off want start. then when i get it restarted it may run good for a day or...

a bad crank sensor, or cam sensor will cause this--no start, hard time starting, shut off while driving. these will set a fault code. have engine scanned. auto zone will do this for free. p0340 is a bad cam sensor,

Sounds like you have a bad motor mount, how to check is open the hood and push the car back while watching to see if the motor moves, if it does, then you have bad motor mounts.....
