My 2001 saturn s series car died on me a couple months ago, i thought it had simply ran out of gas, so i put more gas in it to try to restart it, i found that it will fire, but not start, i could not hear the fuel pump turning on anymore, so i replaced the fuel pump, and the problem has not been fixed, same results, the fuel gauge seems to be acting odd too, what do i do?

Hi :) That starting system has a coil pack and if one side stops working the engine only fire on 1-3 or 2-4 which make the engine shake and not start. There should be a crank senor that could be on its way out. and check the relays in the black box buy the battery there is one for the fuel pump and pre start pump.

I was driving my 2004 Saturn Vue when it died thought it ran out of gas but now won't start it back fired real loud it turns over like its going to start and then dies down and shuts off it keeps...

Try a shot of starting fluid or gas into the intake through a vacuum line.Keep the throttle closed and if it starts you may need a fuel pump.

What do these codes mean on a diagnostics check? c, ev, o, oh,e? what are these numbers for ISO9141 KWP2000 and why does it steady blink on monitor then say backfire problems?

you need to read the manual for the machine you are hooking to the vehicle .
These are errors not codes you need to understand how it works better.

My 2001 L Series Saturn ran out of gas, then after 1 gallon of gas was added to the tank, the engine would not turn over. Any suggestions for how to get it to start?

the fact that it won`t turn over is just a coincedent it happened when you ran out of gas.i`m assuming that you mean the motor won`t turn over at all and not that you mean it will turn over and not start.if it is the latter then the fuel needs time to fill the lines and pressurize the fuel system while cranking over.

I put gas in my 2001 Saturn and afterwards the service engine soon light came on. I checked the gas cap,but it did not go off. I just bought it a week ago, and it seems to run fine.

sometimes when the vehicle runs fine without any problems it is just something like an o2 censor you should take it to a local shop to get a diagnosis.

I have a 2001 saturn that ran out of gas put gas in it wont fire up checked the fuel line presure release no gas in the line checked fuse all good..... do you think its the fuel pump?

THE ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP IN THIS CAR IS IN THE GAS TANK AND IT IS COOLED BY THE FUEL IT RUNS IN, WHEN U RUN OUT OF GAS YOU SEVERLY OVERHEAT THE PUMP AND THEY SEIZE UP, WHICH IS WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOUR PUMP, U WILL NEED TO REMOVE THE GAS TANK AND REPLACE THE ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP.

2001 Saturn L. I thought I had run out of gas when the car bogged then quit. I tried to fill tank and still won't start. It wants to turn over and acts like its going to but doesn't. The gas flow coming...

I had a similar problem. I gradually lost power (over a week) and then it finally died and wouldn't restart but for a minute and then die again. The solution was replacing the catalytic converter which had been ruined by a bad spark plug. It was a 2001 L200.

2001 Xterra - Replaced fuel pump twice and is still not running.

I am no expert, but I just had a similar problem. The car would shake and buck when accelerating. It finally just died and would not start. After sitting for some time, the car would start and run a while, then do the same thing. I thought fuel pump. The dealer diagnosed distributor. After replacing, the car is running perfect. Something to think about. Good luck.

Cadillac wont start

You have gotten Air into the Fuel line. You really need to let it run for a while and let it work the air out. When it Dies just keep trying to start and you will get the air out.
