Take it back to the repair shop and have them re-bleed the brake line...sometimes air in the line can cause a "spongy" brake peddle.
No matter what , its the responsibility of the repair shop to fix it.
*Hard to Push:
-Check the vacuum line to the brake boost. Is it still connect to it?
-If Not. Plug it or connect to and now run the engine and try to brake you should fell smooth or softer than before. *Brake light warning light stay on: -Check Brake fluid level. If low top to line indicator "Full"
-The Emergency brake switch is not completely return or the release handle doesn't touch the switch. Or it's broken.
-You need to use hand to push the switch and if the light is off
then you need to adjust to closer.
If still no ON then replace the switch.
If the brake lining indicator is staying on consistently, then it is possible for your brake warning to come on as well. It is an additional warning to have the brakes repaired if needed, and if the fluid in the reservoir gets low to compensate for the worn brakes, then it can cause the light to come on as well.
My info says to disconnect and reconnect abs control module. Passenger compartment, access after removing right hand cowl cover. Or disconnect battery ground cable. I have to tell you I don't like disconnecting battery cables, sometimes that causes more problems than you already had. Sometimes it doesn't cause any problems??
That sounds like a brake warning light and could be one of several things, the simplest being low brake fluid level. Check the fluid level and if low, look for leaks. It could also be worn brake pads which need replacement, or the hand brake that is not completely released or a problem with the switch which needs resetting.
Alternator no but the brakes yes. Did you take it to a repair shop or do it yourself? Most repair shops have the programmer to reset the brakes on the odometer.
Space saver spares are only designed to use in an emergency to drive at LOW speed to the nearest repair shop to get the standard size tire repaired or replaced. They are designed to not leave you stranded, not to use as a long term/high speed replacement. Repair or replace the flat tire, put it back on and if the lights do not go out on their own, reset them or have them reset. Most auto shops and parts places (O'Reilly's, NAPA, etc.) have the programmer to reset them. Most of the time they will do it for free.
check your brake fluid level( as this light is the hand brake warning light) but if it comes on with the hand brake in off position and ignition on it warning low fluid level in the braking system
