I cannot locate the actual horn on my 2006 altima. The other day it started honking very quietly and I want to replace it but I can not find or access it. Please help.
My horn also did same and does not do anything even though fuse relay under hood is getting voltage. Is this a recall? My horn also did same and does not do anything even though fuse relay under hood is getting voltage. Is this a recall?

I pulled the center out of the steering wheel and grounded the horn contact. The horn honked like it should. This is on our 2006 KIA Sedona. The horn used to work once in awhile, but not at all now. This leads me to believe that the clockspring in the steering column is defective. I will call the dealer on Monday to see if there is a warranty fix, but I doubt that there is.
the negative wire or negatice current is shorting somewhere near the horn when you put key in the ignition and swtich the key fodward the battery current starts flowing in the wires and at due to short cercuit in or around the horn it starts honking so check the connections around the horn unit and secondly the problem can be in the horn button . Due to dislocation of horn assembly inside the steering wheel it happens sometimes
I believe there are 2 wires to the horn. One is power all the time, and the other is ground through the steering column wire to the horn button on the steering wheel, when it grounds out when pushed. If it is a single wire to the horn, then there is a relay.
find the horn ,it should be at the front possibly behind the bumper ,run a wire direct to it and see it works ,if it does work then its the wiring in the steering wheel ,but as this vehicle no doubt has an air bag then entrust this job to a garage because if you get it wrong the air bag will explode ,expensive job to say the least
since heat caused the problem, i used cold for the fix.....there are several types of canned "FREEZE" that are used for electronic testing...i sprayed the steering wheel--twice. i think it released the weight of the steering wheel cover on the horn contacts...that or my prayers were answered......whatever the fix----currently AIN'T BROKE.....
