The clutch master cylinder on my 93 chevy S-10 is plastic. I am not in a position to spend a great deal on the truck right now. In the past I have been able to find rebuild kits for anything hydraulic but it doesn't appear that there is one made for this p.o.s. Is there some way I can repair this? Are there parts that I can interchange to get this functional again? I need this going so I can get to work to make enough money to fix it right. Thanks

I would look to see if the clutch master cylinder is low. It is smaller but like the brake master cylinder. If so check to see if the slave cylinder on the bell housing is leaking or the master cylinder is leaking. Low fluid or no adjustment will make it hard to get in gear.
No ---it simply needs the air being bled out of the clutch system. IF the slave cylinder had no fluid leakage past the piston then have an assistant help you bleed the slave cylinder. If there is a problem then I would consider replacing the clutch master cylinder .Keep an eye on the clutch master cylinder reservoir . The play you gave in the clutch fork is not there when the system is bled properly and there is no spring as the system keeps the piston of the slave cylinder in contact with the forks.
it is very possible that the clutch master cylinder has malfunctioned
what happens in your case is that there is a compensating port in the cylinder that becomes blocked and when the clutch is released the fluid is pushed back by the pressure plate fingers
it has no where to go so so the plate is held in a partial or fully disengaged position causing it to slip
it would be good workshop practice to replace both the slave and master cylinder with new units then bleed the air out
it is a very common practice for mechanics to replace the clutch leaving the customer with an extra bill when all it was ,was the master cylinder
Slave cylinder is what compresses the clutch, the black plastic piece your talking about should pass throughout the firewall and actuate the clutch master cylinder.
Have you checked to make sure you still have fluid in your clutch master cylinder reservoir? If there is no fluid left or the reservoir looks low, can you see any sighns of leakage? If it looks ok, try bleeding your clutch master cylinder - you possibly have air in the line. If you try all of this and it still doesn't work - most likely your master cylinder has in internal seal leak and needs to be rebuilt/replaced.
I can't remember if that year has a clutch master cylinder or not. Check to see if it does, it will be next to the brake master cylinder, and look like a single round silver dollar sized vesle. To the left of your brake master cylinder. check if its bone dry, if so refill it.
if this is not the case and it does not have a master cylinder, you need to check your clutch out.
