Apparently the computer "thinks" that the key is in the ignition. This can be verified by scanning the body controller data while it is doing this. You will most likely end up having to replace your ignition switch to fix it. Also, if the ignition switch is replaced, the computer will have to be reprogrammed to accept the new ignition switch. Otherwise, you will have problems with your security system and the car will not start.
Lights will turn off automatically after they key it out of the ignition. Lights will stay on for 10 to 20 seconds after the vehical is turned off. If your lights are turned on manually, turn them off. The ding ding you are hearing is a warning that you lights are still on and you need to turn them off manually.
