Here is the repair procedure straight from Ford manual, but it doesnt give any information about access problems, I will ask a coworker and see if he knows:

Removal and Installation

  1. NOTE: Front and rear door hinges can be removed and installed using this procedure.

Support the front door (20124) or rear door (24630) for service using Rotunda Flexi-Work Table 156-00070 or equivalent.
  1. Mark the location of the front door upper hinge (22800) or lower door hinge on the front door or rear door and body.
  1. Remove the door hinge-to-body retaining bolts.
  1. Remove the door hinge-to-door retaining bolts. Remove front door upper hinge or lower door hinge.
  1. To install, position the front door upper hinge or lower door hinge to the front door or rear door and body. Install retaining bolts.
  1. Adjust the front door or rear door as outlined. Tighten hinge retaining screw and washer assemblies to 25-35 Nm (18-25 lb-ft) and remove the support.

SOURCE: driverside door coming off or hanging low. big

the door problem sounds like the door pins and bushings are worn out. this should be fixed asap because if it is let go the pin will cut into the hinge itself and then they may also need replaced. hope this helps!

Replace front door Pontiac vibe

THIS IS A TWO PERSON JOB!!
Open the door wide for access. Get a look at each hinge and see if the bolt heads are accessible. If not it will involve stripping door trims and possibly front fenders.
If you can get to the hinge bolt heads, first remove the door check strap across the centre line of the door. This will allow you to swing the door a bit wider making access easier. Wind the window down a short distance as a handle. Then,
SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF THE DOOR!
Slacken the LOWER hinge bolts leaving them in loosely to act as a brake if the door drops.
Start to remove the bolts in the upper hinge. Get your helper to support the door as it starts to swing loose. Take out the loose upper and lower bolts and remove the door.
To refit the new door, get your helper to hold it in position while you install the top bolt in BOTH hinges. Then install the lower bolt in each hinge. Tighten all bolts to the correct torque.
Lastly, refit the door check strap and close the door to check it lines up.

My passenger windows won't let down but my driverside controls work fine.

What is year--make--model? You may have a wiring harness on hinge side of passenger door. Probably has a protective rubber boot covering, Pull the rubber boot back so you can access the proper wire color for voltage and ground. I can't look up the proper wiring diagram w/o knowing which vehicle you have?

Trying to replace a door on a chevy impala driverside back door

remove any associated wires to the door . Undo the hinge bolts on the body pillar and get some to hold the door as you take the bolts out. Replacement is the reverse but leave the bolts just loose enough to move the door up-down or in or out at the top to get the adjustment right ,Tighten the bolts when finished.

There is a clicking noise in the driverside door hinge

It is most likely a loose hinge bolt that allows the hinges to move around when the door is opened.

Driverside front door is out of alignment, will not shut tight. 2002 Chevy Trailblaser.

that generally means that the pin on at least one set, probably both, of hinges is worn out. driver's door go figure which ones get all the use. buy a new set of hinges at a dealer.

call some body shops and get prices, then make an appointment, and take the car and the hinges to
the body shop and have then hang it for you. requires a special jack to do right.

Need instructions on replacing drivers side door hinge pins and bushings

  • 1. Place masking tape on the inside edges of the door, on both the inside and outside of the door. 2. Remove the door spring by using a door spring removal tool. Insert the tool into the door spring, turn the knob with a screwdriver to compress the spring, then pull out the tool. 3. Set a 5-gallon bucket under the door. This will help support the weight of the door. 4.Place a nail punch under the hinge pin, and strike it with a hammer. Repeat this until the hinge pin begins to come out of the hinge. 5.Place the end of a flat-head screwdriver under the top of the hinge pin, then strike the screwdriver with the hammer to force the hinge pin out of the hinge. 6. Place the bushing on top of the new door hinge pin, and tap it into place with the hammer. 7. Insert the new hinge pin into the hinge. Tap on the hinge pin with the hammer and nail punch to force the pin into the hinge. 8. Insert the hinge spring back into the door, and release the tension on the spring removal tool. 9. Spray the door hinge with a lubricating spray or apply grease.

I know there are a few directions but it is fairly easy to do. If you have access to an air hammer and a compressor you can use this in place of a manual hammer to make the process a bit easier.

    Hope this helps.

Driver door is all messed up

The hinge is possibly sprung where it attaches to the body. If it is welded to the body, a body shop will have to fix it. Sometimes you can shim behind the hinge if it is bolted to the body, but, usually not successful.
