I have a 2008 Dodge 3500 2WD Dually with 71,000mi. It has a manual 6 speed transmission. My problem is the transmission is making noise in 6th gear. I had it to two dealership shops. One tells me its a countershaft or input shaft bearing that is going bad. The other shop says I need to replace the whole transmission. Needing some guidance. Also don't feel a 3 year old truck with this kind of mileage should have a failing transmission.

Still under warrenty? If not i would just change the fluid and filter in the tranny. This needs to be done normaly around your 100k tune-up. This will help the pressure in the shaft,But if it's the bands it may not help much. I would not replace the tranny until last resort, this sounds like a shop needing a rebuild job.Best of luck to you and remember allways get a sec. opinion. Thank's for using Fix Ya.

I have a hino truck, its 6th gear does not get engaged

no VIN told
no country told
no year told
no kind of transmission told , manual or automatic
the only clue is 6th gear,
my 2008 jeep has a 6speed manual transmission
SEE?
let me guess it is a M./T box and has manual foot clutch
and the clutch slips.
seems your shop in town is not so good.

top cause of gears not selecting is the gear shifter linkage is all messed up. (damaged, worn, or adjusted wrong)
or the
main clutch is dragging (bad) or slipping worse.
any shop that knows M/t can diagnose it, but not yours.
the old 6sp mt box has side lever shift links up to 1995
then later the Eaton Fuller FS6406A 6 speed box?2004 up??>?? no year truck told, why must any helper beg fo the year.
with classical. top lever shift and big knob end
the bottom of the classical lever. has tip and this tip can be plastic to stop noise but wears out fast and the H pattern fails to work this is super common super easy cheap fix.
even a $10 fix.

Eaton fix easy, nothing ever was so easy this failure
see the stick?
remove it and see the tip is damaged.
bingo.will not pick gears in the H pattern, or is RAndom
BOX GOOD
CLUTCH GOOD
SHIFT TIP NOT GOOD. A DIRT CHEAP PART.

My eaton fuller transmission wont shift past 5th when it tries to get into 6th gear it just makes a grinding noise

how many gears in this transmission remembering that Eaton make from 5 speeds up to 21 speeds in their range of transmissions
so if you have a 9 speed box and attempt to select 6 gear without using the range change you will be selecting probably first again
Don't assume that everybody knows what box you have so include all make , model year , equipment application in your posts as they are not linked

Why cant my 2005 dodge stratuss pick up speed when i press on gas pedal

Sounds like a transmission problem, specifically that perhaps the transmission fluid is low if your truck has an automatic transmission, or the clutch is slipping terribly if it has a manual transmission.
- You need to include this information on such questions.

2008 dodge caravan 31k miles. I devevelped a drining hum.

Since you are still under warranty, I suggest getting your transmission checked at a dealer. We had to get ours replaced at about 28M miles. It was making wierd noises, especially in a parking lot at low speeds and when turning slowly.

There is no dipstick for the transmission fluid on our model :(

If you recently changed tires, then that could possibly be the noise too.

Transmission noises from a 2000 dodge caravan 2.4L

normally should take 6-8liters when empty. If it is making those noises keep a tow truck on speed dial.Dodge does not make a very strong transmission.Could be that you just need the bands adjusted but I suspect you either need to rebuild or replace it
