While driving my truck the order night the dash lights started to go dim and the air bag light started blinking. If I turned the air conditioning on the mother would start to stall. When I got home I checked everything and found that the battery had a bad cell. I replaced the battery, but it done the same thing that night. The alternator is putting out right at 12.7 to 13 volt. So I am going to replace my battery terminals to see if this helps, but does anyone have any ideas?

alternators need to put out 14.5-14.8 volts dc to work properly
could be the alternator , voltage regulator or drive belt adjustment
best if you take it to an accredited auto electrician for a charge circuit system test

Well since the lights are controlled by the OBD (on board diagnostics), you'll have to reset it. You may be able to do this by simply disconnecting the battery for a few hours. However, a lot of newer vehicles have electronically locked radios which require the manual to be able to be re-enabled.
I'd check out the radio before disconnecting the battery.
The only other ways are to physically disconnect the lights in the dash or get someone with an OBD reader to clear the codes.

Hi. this is defiantly a slow or major drain that is occurring within this vehicle. Here is a test that you can preform that will help you find this battery drain so you can illuminate this issue.
--BATTERY DRAINAGE TEST PROCEDURE--
Using a 12-volt test light, hook one end to the negative battery post the other
end to the negative battery cable you just disconnected. The test light will glow
or "light" if there is a drain. If the "light or glow" is faint, that is probably
normal draw for the clock or computer. If the "light or glow" is bright, then there
is a large drain. That should be corrected. Now start removing and replacing the
fuses one by one until the light goes out; that one will be the circuit with the
drain. Remember to hold in the button in the door jam for the interior lights.

With a volt meter and the engine at idle, check the voltage at the battery.It should always be just over 12 up to 14 volts. At idle with no accessorys on (lights, fan, radio ect.) The voltage should stay just over 12 volts. As you turn on all the accessorys the voltage should rise up to between 12-14 volts.
Also, a new battery needs to be fully charge before use. Most new batterys sit on the shelf and lose charge. My last new battery needed 8 hours of chargeing to be fully charged.

i know all about the vegas heat. i live in henderson. the alternator is going out. the regulator is internal so you have to replace the whole alternator.

first thing to check is the proper routing of the belt. there is also a tensioner and it may have failed and need replacing. you may also want to check that you are getting the proper replacement alternator (amperage). you have not mentioned if you hear the belt slipping or not. removing the battery connectors and cleaning them with a wire brush would also be a good idea. keep in mind if your stereo is of the anti theft variety make sure you know the code and how to enter it.
