How do reset the FSS after Service a and Service b

You need a computer with the Mercedes software.

You need to access the FSS menu, you get to the FSS screen by bringing up the status on how many miles to the next service.....then hold the reset button for five plus seconds and that brings up the FSS Main Menu. Trying to access the FSS by bringing up the outside temp screen just doesn't work on my vehicle. I was then able to follow my owner's manual directions to reset the FSS Service Indicator.......I got service at a 3rd party Euro Service Center and they hadn't reset the FSS so I was able to do it myself by using the above access process and then following my owner's manual to do the reset protocol.

Sorry to be the messenger of bad news ,looked in my alldata book and this year is dealer software only .

Even Mercedes Service Departments cannot agree what is involved on a D service.
It is usually the 2 year periodic maintenance which includes transmission service, oil service and visual check of running components.

Most all Mercedes Dealers will write this up as a B service. It's up to you they don't over service the vehicle. Some MB dealers will sell you shocks and/or rear axle oil brake fluid flush, coolant flush and wiper replacement and who knows what else.

I suggest you find a GOOD independent Mercedes specialist and ask for a B service and report on any items needing attention.

Ask them to reset your Service FSS or oil interval reminder in the cluster, or do it yourself....it's in your Handbook around page #290. iirc.

Cost can be anywhere between $200.00 and $600.00.

Turn key to ON, not run just ON, so all the dash lights are on, press the O botton twice quickly, like twice in one sec. Service reset will come on with the little wrench symbol, immediately turn key to the off position, press the zero button and hold it in while turning the key to the on position again, hold the button till it beeps, release button and turn key to off position.

While your in the car anyway do the ecu reset and set the learned driver values back to the factory settings,like an instant tune up in two minutes time... (FSS = Flexible Service System)

Does this vehicle use the FSS system? If so:

-First remember to perform ALL of the procedures MB recommends at this service interval. Failure to do so may result in an unsafe condition.

-Do not use oil that hasn't been approved by MB for your vehicle unless the oil is cheap enough to justify sacrificing 90% of your engine's expected service life. This engine if fairly expensive, BTW.

-Turn the key to the on position.

-Press the buttons on the steering wheel to display the 'Basic' screen.

-Then, press the up arrow.

-Press the reset button near the left side of the instrument cluster.

Disconnect negative battery post for 30 seconds & reconnect. This action will reset the car's computor & remove the light.

1. Place the ignition key in position #2. That's the one just befor the starter engages. (My owners manual said position #1, but that didn't work.) 2. Bring up the odometer/mileage reading on the screen, and then scroll until you get the FSS display. (Flexible Service Schedule) That's the one that shows how many miles until the next servicing. 3. Press the "R" (reset button) on the instrument panel for about 2 seconds and release. The display should change to ask you if you want to reset the reading. 4. Press and HOLD the "R" button again until the mileage resets.
Note: Sometimes it won't work if any of the doors are open. Make sure all doors are closed.
