SOURCE: i have a 1999 mitsubishi

I kept getting this code on my 2001 stratus it had the 3.0. The problem for me was my egr valve. I was able to clean mine with card cleaner and it worked for me. But every six months it came back and had to clean it again. Later found out I had some vacuum leaks which were causing car to run rich as cause more junk to clog egr. After fixing those the problem stopped. Good luck.

P1495 on 2000 dodge stratus 2.4 l engine how to fix the problem

The code is telling you that you have a problem with the pump.

DTC P1495 - LEAK DETECTION PUMP SOLENOID CIRCUIT
WHEN MONITORED Ignition on and battery voltage greater than 10.4 volts .
SET CONDITION The state of the solenoid circuit does not change.
POSSIBLE CAUSES Fused ignition switch output circuit open
Leak detection pump defective LDP solenoid circuit wiring harness observable def LDP solenoid ckt wiring harness intermittent def LDP solenoid control circuit short to ground Leak detection pump solenoid control circuit open Powertrain control module defective

During evaporative system diagnosis, Leak Detection Pumps have mistakenly been replaced. A thorough inspection for pinched, kinked, or disconnected supply vacuum lines (as currently listed in the Powertrain Diagnostic Procedures) is a critical step in diagnosing DTC P1494 (LDP SW OR MECHANICAL FAULT). Additionally, the other evaporative leak faults (DTC P0442 - SMALL LEAK, P0455 - LARGE LEAK, and P0456 - VERY SMALL LEAK) should have the supply vacuum lines examined for pinches or kinks prior to any LDP component replacement.

The supply vacuum lines should be checked from the engine compartment all the way to the fuel tank, including the LDP and purge system.

NOTE: VERIFY ALL RELATED SUPPLY VACUUM LINE ROUTINGS FOR PINCHES, KINKS, OR DISCONNECTION'S BEFORE REPLACING LDP SYSTEM COMPONENTS.

Hope this helps, also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Engine light stays on code p1494

P1494 code is a leak detection pump switch or mechanical fault, leak detection pump switch does not respond to input. The leak detection pump (if equipped) is located under the air filter housing on models through 2001. Check if the vapor and vacuum lines are securely connected to the leak detection pump or a diagonstic trouble code my be set like this. The leak detection pump switch may be bad and need replaced.

Town and county van with errors codes P 0300, P 0301, P 1494, P 1495 ???

P0300 - generic misfire.
P0301 - misfire at cylinder 1 = the spark was not generated at some time at cylinder 1
P1494 - Evap Leak Detection pump pressure switch condition = the ECM detected the leak detection pump switch did not change after the solenoid was energized
P1495 - leak detection pump solenoid circuit = the electrical circuit that commands the solenoid of the pump is interrupted
You need to check the wiring to the solenoid and the solenoid itself, located under the driver's side in the cast cradle under the steering gear. A good expertise of car electrics is required for that, you will need a good repair shop.
