How to install a HID kit in your car or truck

If you have seen those newer vehicles with the bright bluish headlights and want to install them on your car its a fairly simple installation and an awesome accessory to any vehicle here are the step by step instructions
1. remove your existing headlight bulb or if you have a seal beam headlight you have to buy an H4 housing specific to your vehicle
2. connect the hid ballast to its respective power source
3. connect the hib bulb to the igniters DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB GLASS
4. install the bulb into your stock or after-market light housing
5. mount the ballasts in a place under your hood where they wont heat up, like behind the housing
6. test the lights and make sure that they are both lit and solidly lit not "fluttering"

7.tape all connections lightly with electrical tape and close hood
NOTES *any bulbs that arent 6k bright white are 100% ILLEGAL

*a standard HID kit has only the low beam which is like in between hi and low

*if you want both beams get a BI-Xenon kit that has hi-low beams

Plain and simple...Your turn signal circuit is shorted to your headlamp circuit. What USUALLY causes this is an incorrect light bulb has been installed in the vehicle or the light bulb was installed incorrectly. There are other possible causes of these circuits being shorted together, but 99 out of 100 of the times that I have seen this it is either because somebody just replaced a bulb or a bulb socket melted somwhere on the car. Be sure to check both the front AND rear bulbs.

I have a 2007 Scion Tc and I have 2 problems.... When my car headlights are on, the light on the clock on the dash is off and when the headlights are off, the light on the clock is off so it's reversed somehow. Secondly, my cigarette lighter will not light up, give power to any phone/other charger, but will only work with ONE of my ipod fm transmitters.
I can help with the clock light.

Normally, with the headlights off, the clock light (numbers) should be very bright so they can be seen during the day. The electronics designers thought you would only turn the headlights on at night so they made the clock numbers only bright enough to be seen in the dark (that is, they are dim in day light).

I like to drive with my headlights on (day or night) for safety. Therefore, I click my lights off occasionally, to see the clock (barely visible in daylight).

Part 2
I always find trouble shooting automotive electric a pain in the neck so I go to a shop that specializes in "auto electric". They will generally track down something this simple for about $25. It You can check if the spring fell out of your lighter (+ contact). Other than that, leave it to the pros - it is so much less of a headache.

how do you install headlight switch on 1992 camry 4 cyl. headlights dont turn on but the blinkers work and if you jiggle the switch the brights will come on but not the low beams.
You have to replace the turnsignal switch. all the exterior lights run thru it.
I believe on that model and year, you have to pull the steering wheel to remove the switch.
You will have to purchase a couple of special, but fairly cheap tools to do the job.
If your up to that then let me know and I can guide you thru it.

What does headlight leveling mean in my 98 LS Lexus 400.
Most of the luxury models and most newer vehicles have a bubble level that is on the back side of the headlamp that can be seen with the hood open and the may be an access cover that wil have to be opened to see it. There is an adjustment on the headlight to "level" the headlight for an optimum projection without blinding oncoming traffic. Here is the thing, you must make sure you vehicle is on a perfectly level surface before leveling you headlamps or everything you do will be a waste of time.

Upgrade Mercury Sable 1998 headlights
Most of the time it's not the light bulb, but the lens get dull and end up getting oxidation do to being out in the eliments. You can buy product's at Wal Mart in there automative section that will bring them back to new condition, or a good wax if there not to far gone will fix them too. good luck and hope this helps
