Having trouble getting my tail lights, brake lights, turn signals lights wired. I have them all crossed up. I need a wireing diagram. 1998 Dodge Dakota Sport. Please help! Thanks, Carl

You have a short in the cross over wire. Almost all cars and trucks have one main break wire with a second wire "y" in off to the passenger side . You could just wire in a cross over and disconnect the old one.

The diagram does not show separate wires for turns, so you don't need an adapter. The left signal/brake wire is green with a red stripe. The right is green with a brown stripe. The running lights are on the black wire with a yellow stripe.

Pull the connector from the back , test signals going into the tail light assembly , if good you need a new tail light assembly . No it's not a fuse issue . The brake light's ,turn signals , park lamps all have thier own power supply - different fuse's . Do you know how to test automotive electrical circuits with a volt meter ? With a test light check if you have power there with lights on and with lights off, compare left side with right side as far as location in the tail lamp plug for the tail lamp park lights.Trace the harness back to the left side underneath usual corrosion in this area.

you need to inspect wire harness @ rear and along frame rail , corrosion , damaged wire, bad connection, check for continuity, power, ground wires are extremely important . brake light switch could be at fault !!!!!!!!, power to both brakes & turnsignals must be determined , both of these circuits cross each other, see wire diagram

You have a bad ground at the rear.Use a jumper from battery neg to black wire to verify.Repair as required.

Trailer end; Red=Brake
Brown=Running lights
Yellow=Left
Green=Right
White=Ground
You will need a turn and brake signal box IF, you have different bulbs for brake and turn lamps. If the brake and turn bulbs are one(red)lens than no box will be required. Thanks, Dana

White is ground, black is power to trailer battery trickle charge, blue is brakes, green is tail/running lights, red is left turn signal and left brake light, brown is right turn signal and right brake light, yellow is aux power/back up lights. This is the general color coding, there are exceptions, white, black, and blue are pretty much always as listed above, sometimes the others vary. I had the same problem with my 1996 Mystique about a year ago. The brake and tail lights stopped working, except for the center brake light in the window. Turned out to be oxidation of the terminals at the connector on the turn signal. Yes, that's right, turn signal. The electrical signal to the tail lights goes thru the connector on the turn signal. To fix, I cleaned the contacts and the brake lights started working again. Hope this helps. Cheers, Henry
