Hi, i have a problem with my hazard lights on my 98 Sonata 4Cyl 2L.
My indicators work fine but the hazard switch on my dash is dead as a door knob! I've also noticed that no lights flash when i use the central locking to unlock/lock the car. Maybe this is connected to the hazards???? I need help on this so i can fix the problem because i've got to get the car passed for a blue slip to re-rego ASAP. Everything else is 100% except this problem.

I have replied in a previous post as to what my "solution" was. After replacing all of the above it was something as simple as replacing the hazard light switch. They are all connected and if one switch goes bad they seem to disable the other. My problem from the get go was knowing the hazard light had a bad connection. When i tried to enable the hazard switch it made a shorting out sound but if i pressed hard on it they would work. Problem was i following advice from " A1 mechanics" instead of following my gut instinct.
If anyone has questions relating to a 1998 Hyundai Sonata please feel free to send me a message. As i have just about done everything you can to this make and model. Its a 98 sonata GL 4Cyl 2.0 disk brakes front- Drum rear.
Hope this helps.
Hi, i have the same car as you & the only problem i have is my Hazard lights don't work but my indicators etc work fine! I have also noticed that with my central locking when i lock or unlock my doors, no lights (indicators) don't flash. Maybe the central locking flashers are connected with the hazards. I've checked the fuses for the hazard lights & they are fine. I've got to get this fixed so i can re-rego the car ASAP.
