ABS light comes on with ignition then should go off when you start the car.
If abs sensor does not turn off after disconnecting the battery, then there is a real problem, a faulty sensor or ABS malfunctioning.

that is the auto check system, if when you start the car the abs light stays on then you have a problem,

when the ABS light stays on it means there is a fault present in the ABS system and the ABS has been disabled, as long as the light is on u just have regular brakes with no ABS, there are many thinbgs that can turn the light on, most common is one of the wheel speed sensors is defective, since these sensors are about $75-100 each and there are 4 of them guessing is a poor idea, so what u need to do is have the ABS systwem tested, there will be a fault code present to help narrow down the defective part or wiring.

scan abs module and you will find a code 265..the internal relay has failed will need to replace abs module

unhook the battery, the light should go off...if the light comes back on then you may need to get your abs checked

Change the switch - it's above the brake pedal. That will probably account for the ABS light and the brake lights being stuck. Note that you may have more than one ABS issue, and if the light stays on you'll want to have that system scanned by someone with the proper test system for that reason.
