Yes you have to drop tank to replace fuel pump and filter as it is one unit pretty easy though.

crankshaft sensor is either under the harmonic balancer pully or bolted to block facing it you normally have to pull pully to change sensor but some you dont you will need a puller and a installer if you have to pull the pully

relay should be under the hood in relay area

if this was helpful please give me a good rating

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DROP THE FUEL TANK ON A 2005 NISSAN ALTIMA TO CHANGE THE FUEL PUMP. JUST REMOVE THE LOWER PART OF THE BACK SEAT AND YOU WILL SEE THE FUEL PUMP COVER, REMOVE THE COVER AND THEN REMOVE THE PUMP.. BEST DONE WHEN FUEL LEVEL IS BELOW HALF A TANK.

I have 2005 Nissan altima that wont start. It cranks but wont start. I checked the battery with a portable load tester, good. No codes or check engine light. Fuel pump pumps fuel, wont even come on with...

Nissans are known to have problems with ignition coils which would not show up on code reader. I would start with that. Pull a plug and hold it to ground to see how strong the spark is while turning engine over. If the plugs are wet when you take them out then you can be sure it is in all probability related to coils.

Diagnostic of my NISSAN Altima 2004 model 2.5L is showing engine sensor malfuntioning. It showed cranshaft sensor malfunctioning and I have placed order for the crankshaft sensor. Is there any other thing...

The crankshaft sensor is an important sensor for regulating spark and fuel injection pulsing.

I don't know what an 'engine sensor' would be besides the crankshaft sensor, specifically.

Engine sensor is a general term.

Fuel gauge does not adjust according to fuel in tank?

You may have a bad fuel level sensor. Mine does not respond, either, and the diagnostic indicates a bad sensor. Nissan used to sell you the fuel pump assembly, which contains the sensor, but if you press them they'll admit to a separate part# you can buy. The replacement procedure is still a PITA, as you have to drop the tank and remove the pump from the top in order to replace it, but it only costs about $105 for the sensor. Much cheaper than the whole pump!

Fuel pump 2005 nissan altima

Take it back to where you had it serviced. They probably simply missed connecting the fuel level sensor. The engine light is probably from a missed emissions hose that goes to the gas tank.

The tank does not need to be dropped. There is a access panel either under the cushion of the rear seat or in the trunk. I have to replace the pump on my 02
